Title: confusing and bit scary delivery, please help
Post by: brockeh on August 03, 2011, 10:30 am
ok so i got an envelope today(mailbox, no signing for it or anything) it had a big fat opened by customs sticker on it and obvious resealing with tape.
im shitting bricks at this point, i open it up really hoping for a sternly worded letter saying contraband seized but your off the hook, but kinda expecting some sort of court summons

but i find: a cut open vac seal bag with white uniform powder

first thought was substances switched and the raid will be incoming soon but why would they make it so obvious its been opened if they plan to raid, it would be a warning.. also nothing i have ordered is over 1gram, i really cant imagine a raid happening over that.

at present the substance is unidentified, it weighs up to 250mg if it hasnt been switched i think its fentanyl, although that should have been 200mg. i also have 150mg dmt on order could be this posibly. not up for testing it untill i know more

my current theory (hope really) is that customs standard test for powders they find is looking for cocaine or amphetamines (guessing) and this probably fentanyl or dmt didnt come up positive.  for such a small amount maybe they just didnt have time to investigate properly and sent it on. i know this is wishful thinking

but yeah what the fuck is going on??

probably relevant to discussion, i live in Australia.

strong indication its fentanyl from communication with the seller, im still not game to try it but probably will later tonight. anybody with knowledge on the subject, is fentanyl too obscure to be tested for? would it show up in tests for heroin?

I think test procedure does not show fent and other opiates. Only morphine derivate. Thing is if you live in AUS they have ion scanner but its unknown is that analyser can detect those drugs. If they have suspect it they will foward it on appropiate lab forensic, so I dont belive they have simply pass to your address. But we all can only speculate what really happened.

Where was it sent from as you are really unlucky to get a letter opened by Australian customs.

Most likely they opened it, field tested it with no reaction, then resealed and delivered. If its from aromatics keep in mind it is cut with lactose at a 1:10 ratio I believe? So 90% is just lactose and the rest is an opioid that has no reaction in field tests. I can't say for sure but I assume you are fine brotha.

it was coming from canada
i cant imagine they just send it on if afew tests fail, it was in a vac seal bag with nothing else in there, it was obviously dodgy
i can confirm its active
and its 100 to 1 ratio
what im worried about now is that my address is flagged, afew deliveries otw and they wont pass a field test :(
small amounts but probably still be a big hassle if they get found

buyer beware i guess

also i dont blame the seller at all, the envelope looked fine, printed, return addressed etc

They dont screen all packages and envelopes. They just pick some on random order and other what catch customs employee an eye..
If you are flagged and if you are unlucky again that just your pack is picked and all that mean really nothing. Custom operate to strict rules and something must point to your package to open it (dog detection or x-ray).

I think they would send it on. They aren't going to spend the money to GC/MS a gram of some substance that passes the field test. Vacuum sealing is handy for more than just concealing smell. Its good for preventing degradation and contamination as well. You may now be flagged but honestly AU customs are crazy and I can't believe anyone would order anything to a non-drop address internationally anyway. Time for security upgrade.

I don't know if crazy is the correct word.  Methodical and efficient would be better way to put it.  You have to remember when it comes to mail AUS customs does not get involved in the initial screening.  It is done randomly by postal employees on incoming mail and only suspicious packages are passed on to customs for inspection.  The video on the show Border Patrol of beagles running along the conveyor belts sniffing mail is not a daily occurrence.

But yes the address you used has been flagged and both customs and Australia Post will keep a record of this.  However with the sorting system that they use, it usually takes the local post office to hold a flagged mail item and send it back to customs.  Most local PO's don't check the suspicious address list regularly and as AUsPost outsources alot of local PO services, your local PO maybe now run as a licensed PO instead and these licensees can be dodgier than an International mail order drug dealer.
