Quote from: Kind Bud on August 01, 2011, 06:33 pmMybitcoin.com is the second largest public repository of bitcoin around, second only to MtGox. Many many people used them including Gavin Andresen. They were highly recommended by many prominent bitcoin personalities and are included in many FAQs and HOWTOs. This is because they had a slick site that worked very well and stayed on top of developments like the MtGox scandal. It is very easy to use and improved on the anonymity of bitcoin. Their main issues in the past have been about the difficulty of password resets and that the only way to get a hold of anyone was though the on-site help. Any "I told you so" comes from a small minority who just can't help themselves but really is not very helpful to those affected. Many people are missing 1000's of bitcoin. Maybe those people were foolish or maybe they are trusting. It is too soon to tell yet. None of the blocks sent to mybitcoin.com have been spent or transferred since the outage so if they are stealing, they have not done anything with it yet.Participating in Silk Road is also a risk that some people chose to take on trust. Maybe Silk will take all our money and someone will have an "I told you so" moment about that.I can take a hint! :P
