Project Black Flag Warning
« on: October 28, 2013, 04:50:26 am »
I would like to make you all aware that Project Black Flag is currently experiencing "trouble with the escrow" and some vendors in the roundtable have reported having their accounts emptied. Until the smoke is cleared on this situation I recommend everyone to keep their bitcoins, details and business away from there. We had sadly seen this problem before with Atlantis who then ran off with the money of vendors and customers so as usual, play it safe, take no chances and keep as little on the market as you can and depositing only when you intend to purchase an item.
Quote 23: Criticism has plucked the imaginary flower from the chain not so that man may continue to bear the chain without consolation or fantasy but so that he may throw off the chain and cull the living flower.

The only reason I'm hanging on is because it's Sunday and I will give it until the business day on monday before advising everyone to avoid.

Jakey just joking mate, I seriously hope he is locked up or something like that, I hate that thought but more so the thought of him doing a scam so soon is repulsive. It doesn't make sense to me how much money would he have got ? The effort making the site would have been a bit, I'd have thought, easier ways to make money than that.

But DPR!  He's mettaDPR, so he must be the kinder/gentler version of you. If fact, he was so nice he allowed me to log on to Blag Flag using my old SR name and password, without EVEN REGISTERING!  It was so easy it spooked me.    But alas, no one believed me so it's hard to sympathize. But I will anyway.

I believe many people followed Libertas because he/she is the voice of reason, especially when they are the only voice of reason.

I'm sure the team kept many people safe from being scammed. I didn't see any recommendations anywhere that Black Flag was safe.

Not that I wasn't on the down low anyway.

So BMR, PBF, Sheep, these are things you'll want to avoid.

Thats a shame, i was kinda hoping PBF would be a good competitor, but then again it hasnt seen any development since its launch.

I'm on BMR right now and also have found a good vendor for my festivities coming up, really nice peeps there. I guess what it comes down to is that politeness, tact, and how you carry yourself works. The one thing about PBF I liked being a small timer? A free vendor account! So let's seee what happens. I would like to think his heart was in the right place and his wife said " YOU NEED TO GET OFF THE COMPUTER AND FUCK ME AND TAKE OUT THE GARBAGE AND DRIVE THE KIDS TO SCHOOL ASSHOLE"

Really I think this is what happened, rather than an elaborate scam.

We have pulled our listings on Black Flag until further notice...

Thankfully no sales yet.

I do not suspect foul play as it would not make any sense to harvest at this early point.

Still, until MPDR addresses the issue directly we will not attempt to vend there.

I've told people. Anyone who uses Black Flag is an idiot. All signs point to HAZARD.

I still remember the person who originally started the Black Flag as a concept... then StExo outed him as the scammer he was proven to be in the past..... then the guy goes and makes the account MettaDPR and denies ever being a vendor/scammer on SR in the past. Lmao please.

Here is what he did to make people log in with their old usernames. Assuming he wasn't a FED with a copy of the old site. He routed the logins through a PHP script and through the old SR forum and if the script returned back positive results that account was immediately registered on Black Flag. - A great way to get peoples passwords and get them on your community. I'm not sure what he hopes to do with this but if people were dumb enough to log in with their old information then they might likely reuse that information on another site as well.

It wasnt that people were idiots to trust another site.....thats why smart vendors did tests before listing expensive things. Most of us lost less than a coin. The only risk was for buyers, and as long as they knew and verified the vendors key and encrypt everything, there is no security risk. Whether scammed or a bug, darknet is just that...dark.....cant trust anyone, cant trace anyone, cant even vouch that someone isnt working undercover or with LE.....AKA people like NOD......drugs are drugs, illegal is illegal, whether we think it should be or not, we all know what we do for a living, and the risks involved, whether buying or selling. Dont forget that this whole forum and new SR could be a big trap or scam as well, NOT SAYING IT IS, but Im sure all the mods and DPR would like you to think in that way to make sure not to lax ourselves. Mistakes happen when you start getting lax, better to think everything and everyone are scammers and imposters and be wrong, then to trust everyone and end up next to Ross, XTCEXPRESS, or NOD

I don't think he's a scammer, he's too smart to scam this way, 3 weeks of work for what? 200 bucks? Either way, stay away, PBF is poorly managed and I do not think at this point he has what it takes to make a market. We are all pulling the plug.

Everyone should be on the guard, especially since the SR takedown. I don't believe that mDPR set out to rob everyone, I believe it hadn't taken off like he had hoped and that the workload was far too much. That is no excuse though. He fucked people over and as far is I am concerned he is as bad as the LE.

I tip my hat to Stexo, he called it from the outright. I just hope yhat this does not cast a shadow over the new SR.

Well mates, I am saddened to say goodbye. When I created P: BF, my intent was pure and I wanted to help the community. Several days ago I begin implementing code changes to freeze funds and dump them to myself. I was unable to cope with the stress and constant demand, so I panicked. I am sorry for my actions, but with the funds I gathered from the site, I will be able to keep myself from being homeless for the next several months. I will always remember those that made this possible.
The servers will shortly be turned off. Please make migrate to the new Silk Road forums. http://silkroad5v7dywlc.onion
Keyboard DPK and Ganja are not me. They did not know this happened, and were kept in the dark just like everyone else. Please do not hold my actions against them.
I have let a lot of people down, including myself. I put hundreds of hours into this site and forum, and never wanted to see it end up this way.
As of now, I will no longer be using the name MettaDPR, nor will I be signing into the forums or site. The forum servers will be going down in week or so; the market will be going down within the next few days.
Abandon ship.

What a bizarre message!

"Several days ago I begin implementing code changes to freeze funds and dump them to myself. I was unable to cope with the stress and constant demand, so I panicked."

No, you didn't panic. You deliberately ripped people off!

Wouldn't it have been better to freeze future purchases and send a message to buyers and sellers instructing them to all withdraw their coin as you were closing the site down.  "TwattaDPR" seems a more appropriate name.

I'm glad I never once used or even looked at PBF.   Project RED flag would've been a more apt name.

Don't think mDPR is a scammer? Really? That's not a ship I'd jump on, but then again you jumped on the PBF ship right after it was announced, even spreading the good word early on both here and on Clearnet. So of course you wouldn't label mDPR that, right friend?

No need to be so fucking insincere you twit. He made away with a lot more than "200 bucks". The vendor "molly" on here (and there) is already claiming that 2k was removed from escrow, on products they had shipped out to multiple buyers. Don't be so fucking flip. In fact, you should answer to a little more since you know more than us normals on the outside:

Really glad mDPR never become more to our new SR besides an infrequent poster here trying to drum up business on his corrupt site. Bookittymew knows more than he/she is claiming, and is the frequent cheerleader over here for PBF, and seems to be more than just a vendor... for instance, a welcome to PBF post he/she made 11 days ago on reddit:

http://www.reddit.com/r/DarkNetMarkets/comments/1onpu4/project_black_flag/

Quote
"We SHOULD be out of beta on Monday, work on the site is going well, mDPR plugging holes 24/7. Our forums are turning into an awesome little community and we already have some vendors on board as well."

Then yesterday: http://www.reddit.com/r/DarkNetMarkets/comments/1pcxop/pbf_on_hold/

Quote
"We are having some issues with transactions and escrow, I would advise not making purchases until further notice. I'll keep y'all posted."

Somebody who is in the dark just like others on the outside don't speak like this. And this poster is quite active on our and PBF forums.

Yeah but I feel like I helped shit happen and that's not good. There's a vendor here who got me for like a grand before SR opened and I've been chasing that fucker around since 2010. It's a shitty feeling waiting for a love letter, having faith in a selective scammer, knowing what really happened was u got jacked.

I would like to make you all aware that Project Black Flag is currently experiencing "trouble with the escrow" and some vendors in the roundtable have reported having their accounts emptied. Until the smoke is cleared on this situation I recommend everyone to keep their bitcoins, details and business away from there. We had sadly seen this problem before with Atlantis who then ran off with the money of vendors and customers so as usual, play it safe, take no chances and keep as little on the market as you can and depositing only when you intend to purchase an item.

believe it or not defcon .. i tried my best to keep my coins out of escrow    -)
