I don't think that they have all of the SR wallets, just the coins that are in escrow.

When you deposited BTC in a silk road wallet , they were transferred into the tumbler within a few minutes. After that the bitcoins would bounce around in the tumbler until they went out to a vendor. Some folks have said that the FBI somehow disabled the tumbler a short time before seizing the site so I guess its possible that if you sent bitcoins in shortly before the end of the road they might still be in the wallet you sent them too , which is controlled by the FBI.

No.  They only seized the hot wallet.  The bitcoins I lost account for almost 10% of what was seized so there was definitely more than that in escrow.

Jack.....most of the coins I lost were NOT in escrow.....just in my wallet........you think there is any chance of ever getting those back.......just some simple math from all the losses from vendors and it adds up to way more than 3.6 million

thanks

Someone with the private keys to the cold storage wallets would have to send them to us.  It's possible.  I don't think it is likely.

Question:

Was my SR wallet address the same as my SR BTC address? Are they the same thing or did SR somehow transfer them to my SR account name.

Reason Im asking: I changed my SR BTC address all the time. The day that SR was seized it was a new address with .2 BTCs inside. Does that mean that the pigs can know what my account name was and then assemble my entire transaction history? I can see how this might be possible but it would be a nightmare of a thing to have to piece together.

How long do you guys think that the Cops can see back in our transaction history???

Steve Jobs

Silk Road created a deposit address for you.  You send your BTC to your deposit address.  Silk Road's system then credits your account on Silk Road (not on the blockchain) and the BTC is transferred through SR's tumbler and the BTC goes into one of DPR's/DPR's wallets.

LE can see your full order history and messages.  They can see your bitcoin deposits and withdraws back until about around April 23rd (if what DPR told me is true) because DPR privately told me that his system purges bitcoin transaction history after three months.

So if the feds seized 3.5 million and 10% of that was Jack's, then he lost something like 350 grand? Whoa shit, dude. My condolences. Some people are still whining about having lost a couple hundred...

The largest loss was less than 3% of the total pot which belonged to an Australian vendor. Let us not spread myths please, the bitcoins are gone and whilst we cannot recover the pot we are working towards reducing the impact as much as we can (more to follow on this on Thursday).

You are 100% wrong.  As most SRF members already know I operated multiple vendor accounts.  My Jack N Hoff vendor account had something like 600btc in escrow and 800btc in the account balance.  One customer even ordered 9kg before the bust which arrived but was still in escrow.

That's a seriously big loss mate i feel for you! Note for vendors to lean though! don't store huge amounts of btc on the site wallet in case of this happening again!

It looks like before they took the site down that shut off the btc auto eject mechanism that DPR had on the server? either that or it just failed to work? Anyone know more on this?

Do we know for sure that the backup function was ever really implemented? It could have just been a dummy field on the settings page to make people feel more secure. Yet another conspiracy theory.

It would appear that there was no second in command or control of Silk Road so maybe DPR himself had to do it but they caught him by surprise so he didn't have a chance?

If you're referring to any BTC you had in your SR account, it's gone.
I went down... to the SR Forums... to get my fair share of abuse...
