Hello,
I needed a password reset for my buyer and seller account. I can't access either one.
But, when I go to message SR Support from a new account, it gives me this message:
Sorry, an error was encountered.
We could not find the page you were looking for.
-
Have you downloaded and updated to the most recent TOR browser?
-
From what I understanding updating the TBB resolves this issue.
-
I will download the newest version immediately.

I will download the newest version immediately.
You should always run the latest version anyway if you want to avoid potential issues.

Hi,
I am suffering from the exact same problem. I've been unable to login to my account, so I created a new account and opened a support ticket, then when I submit my problem report I get this error message, "Sorry, an error was encountered. We could not find the page you were looking for.".
Oh, and I updated TOR a few hours before I ran into this problem.
Is it possible I can msg a mod on this forum with the note I'd written and was trying to submit via the support ticket system?
Thanks.

I will pass this up as a possible bug.
It it not possible to go via the mods on the forums though I'm afraid, you will need to contact support via the market site.
-
FYI...from here on out i'd check for updates twice per day..just sayin :)
Peace & hugs,

For anybody having these issues, please ensure that you install Tor to a new, fresh folder (i.e. not over the previous install). Backup your bookmarks if you have any, shut down Tor, delete the 'Tor Browser' folder entirely and then run the new Tor installer.

I created this forum account to report that I am having the exact same issue. I could not even log in to my recovery account a second time. I have updated the TOR Browser, with the instructions suggested by Libertas, to no success.
Edit: Also, if and when I am able to contact support, should I use PGP to encrypt my data and/or message?

You should definitely be able to log in to a new account that you created.
Please note that the only active Silk Road address is [silkroadvb5piz3r.onion]; if you entered your Silk Road login credentials at any other URL or any other site it is likely that your account has been compromised. You should ensure that you always use a unique username and complex password that you do not use anywhere else, have not used before, and do not use it on any other marketplace.
No, don't use PGP to encrypt your message to SR Support. PGP is only necessary for sensitive information.

Thank you Libertas.

someone with this issue, please describe step-by-step from starting your tor browser to seeing the error, and a moderator, please try to reproduce the error.

i'd like to hear this as well....this concerns me ...as part of this family we need to let most newbies know....which if diligent in their research they should already kniow not to go to anything that ends in .to...fer heavens sake ALWAYS use the REAL Silk Road URL silkroadvb5piz3r.onion.....we can assist you ...but if you make the same mistake again....then you're on your own...just my own opinion.....hasnt this happened before? to others that had gone to a link that atlantis put out mirroring our Silk Road? maybe it's not my place to say these things...but as far as i am concerned..you're all family till ya prove me otherwise...period.
have you even once logged on through a .to addy to get here? there are some variables which i may be overlooking at this time ???

I tried duplicating this earlier using the previous TOR browser and the current and each time had no issue sending a message. I'll try it again.
-
ok, i've been able to send a msg from TBB version 2.3.25-11 (the new one as far as i know) and recieved a response from Support...then i logged out and went to TBB version 2.3.25-10 and sent a msg to
Support from there and it seems to have went through....not sure if this is a bug or if the users account has been compromised....Hope This Helps :)

Hi,
I've been trying to take some steps towards fixing this problem locally, on my PC... I've done a little cleaning up of my OS, uninstalled TOR... downloaded the latest TOR and installed it on a newly formatted USB drive.
What I've discovered is I can create new accounts on SR perfectly fine, but I cannot send ANYONE a private message. When I attempt to send a msg, it kicks me to this URL ---> http://silkroadvb5piz3r.onion/silkroad/error/10000 and gives me the error msg, "Sorry, an error was encountered. We could not find the page you were looking for.".
Do you want me to post the login/password of the test account I just created so that you can test if the problem exists when try you it/them? This might help isolate the problem?

All, it appears as if the bug is fixed. It had something to do with creating a new account and sending messages the first time they were logged in. THANKS DPR for working on this!!!! Please report if anyone else sees this error again.

I have been away from work for a few days, and the "new account" messaging problem seems to be fixed.
Hopefully I can get my passwords reset. Thanks guys.
