Ouch, so buyers who had poor experiences but were refunded won't even be allowed to change their ratings? Will see see potential options to edit reviews from the Resolution center? Could you manufacture another resolution center, but for past grievances?

you should only leave feedback once you are completely through with the transaction.  If it is in resolution, you won't even have the option to leave feedback.

Many substances I buy can't be tested until the next weekend at the earliest. This will force buyers to hold escrow much longer than necessary. I typically released funds upon receipt of goods that looked correct, knowing I could always pop back later and 1/5 if a problem was discovered.

What exact improvement was this change intended to bring for buyers?

you can release payment before leaving a rating or review, in fact you have to.  it's always been that way.

UPDATE: I created a wiki page that might help clarify some of these changes: https://dkn255hz262ypmii.onion.to/wiki/index.php?title=Ratings_%26_Reviews

ok, we're ready to push out the next update.  I'll be closing the site for an hour or two while we do this.

In this update we'll see a few changes.

When you have finalized your order, you won't have to leave a review or a rating.  When leaving a rating, you will see phrases next to the 1 - 5 scores giving you a sense of what they represent.  If you have unreviewed transactions with a vendor, a link will appear on their page where you can leave a review.  Reviews on a vendors page now have the buyer's stats, and the transaction stats.  A vendor's rating widget links to a dedicated ratings and reviews page where you can see a breakdown of a vendors ratings, both weighted and unweighted, along with all of their reviews broken down by 1 - 5 groups.  Also, all ratings and reviews will be final and uneditable.  That means, if you have not received your order or tested it, you should not rate or review it!  Oh yea, and you'll be able to sort reviews by weight or freshness.  I hope you enjoy it!

Once we get this pushed out and running smoothly, we'll move on to the next phase which will be looking at giving vendors more tools to judge buyers and protect themselves from scamming buyers.

Just came across something strange- I finalized an order in escrow and a bunch of "jibberish" popped up that had a bunch of numbers and shit and I remember seeing the words "vendor weight". There was no green camel or anything, just a white page. I clicked back and got an error message on SR saying I can't access the page or something. I looked at the vendor's feedback and my feedback was there (I even checked the feedback I left in my account) so it went through and everything. It was just an odd occurence I felt I should share.

EDIT: Oh, I just noticed there's a thread on this (https://dkn255hz262ypmii.onion.to/index.php?topic=206101.0)

I've just left some feedback and got that page too..  and there's a couple of errors I think I detect so I'll go post the details in that thread.

Yup same with me I saw vendor weight a bunch of times and I saw a bunch of different transaction numbers.

sorry about that.  it was just some debugging output and not anything sensitive.

these new forums need to fucking go. All of a sudden I have ignorant pricks trying to ruin my business...30 years of hard work down the drain because of one ignorant prick

both cyanspore and the person he was "discussing" his item with have had their discussion privileges suspended for ignoring the discussion guideline of using a polite tone.

what this place stands for:
https://silkroadvb5piz3r.onion.to/silkroad/charter

regarding "vendor collusion" or cartels:
https://dkn255hz262ypmii.onion.to/index.php?topic=135769.msg922288#msg922288

Vendors raising their prices to compensate for the difference between the SR rate and the rate they can actually cash out at is not collusion.

thank you for voicing your concerns, but there is no need to repeat yourselves, I'm getting the messages :)  It is not possible to snap my fingers and have every feature securely deployed in an instant.  So far the discussion feature is working great and as intended.  It is much easier to moderate than the forums and is more convenient and well organized.  This is not an off the cuff feature, but rather one that I've been wanting to put in for quite some time.  We aren't getting rid of it unless rampant abuse we can't control becomes the norm.  I don't think that will happen and I ask that you give it a chance before making negative assumptions about it.

I believe it requires javascript to download.

I'm here to answer any questions you have as best I can.

Hey DPR,

Can I ask: how many people have access to this account to post as DPR? And do they all have access to the password to PGP sign messages?

x Eiley

hmm...  I think I like this one being a mystery.
