Shipping / Re: Is getting a UPS private mail box safe?
« on: November 09, 2013, 10:16:52 pm »
usps boxes seem to work quite well.  They are inexpensive and as long as the shipments are coming in priority boxes it seems pretty un-suspicious.

USPS doesn't seem nosey, they are grateful for your business... it helps them keep their jobs.

And they require a warrant for LE to access.

I'm torn. I don't know where to ship my supplies. Should I go with the average USPS PO Box, or should I go with the private UPS mail box. What are the dangers of both? Should I attempt to get each in a fake name?

Any suggestions and help would be LARGELY appreciated and I apologize for the amount of questions in one post

*Someone recommended getting a PMB with a sort of "mom and pop" type of center. For instance like a family owned center that will let you use a mailbox for 35$ a month. Only problem is, I don't think I have one of those anywhere near me.

** Additionally, how would I get someone else to put the PO or PMB in their name instead? Wouldn't that put all the fault on them if something does go wrong?

Do not use UPS they are aloud to open your mail without search warrants USPS Will require a warrant Mom and pop Checking places would be best for you to go check out as you can Be Like look the other way for this 20

Agreed...I think. You should check out the period on your keyboard. Its pretty handy.

Not at all, Syn. ;)

I completely support the measures taken against this guy. He is more than just annoying. By posting the link he did with that malicious code, he is also a threat the security of the road.

Just as we expect but do not enforce encryption of the buyer's name/address, the same goes for handling of your own coins.

Think the site should not launch until the bitcoin mixer is implemented.

So long as you tumble your coins well, that shouldn't be an issue,

Ah got ya. Whatbout the 50 post Newbie Hell trick? I recalll you addressing that possibility in one thread having it's own set of pros and cons.
There is another way... you see theres this hitman... he's got a kilo of coke for sale.. and oh fuck it, too soon.  :-X

Doesn't help I'm afraid, coachalla can spam his way out of the newbie section in no time and it would also give him open slather to create multiple accounts at will that we will have a much harder time keeping track of. At least with the invite system we (DPR) can se where he is getting the codes from given us extra ability to close off those weak links.

All I would suggest is everyone with the privilege to create invite codes gives careful consideration to who they pass them onto because you could be held accountable if you are effectively vouching for this idiot and letting him in.

Synergy

So....No on the contract killer? I will have Badger and Skinny Pete stand down. $200,000 down the drain. ;)

Trust me, all of us who currently have coins hoping the same thing. That the market will be fully available and transactions made before the price drops below it's current record setting value.

Hopefully your affairs turn out for the best and wish you the best of luck. Cheers, V.

they were just 1 bitcoin each. Sometimes my wallet gives the option to pay fees and sometimes it just sends them without giving the option. These two times it did not give the option to pay the fees. So anyone that was experiencing this issue get there coins yet?

You will experience delays with it since a fee wasn't paid. Just sit tight. It will be confirmed eventually.

You should really look through the shipping forum which is completely dedicated to questions such as these.

Sounds like you are sending transactions without fees or very low fees.  If you send a transaction with a 0.001btc fee then it will confirm very very fast.

That fee has always kind of been trivial to me. You pay more per transaction as the exchange rate of BTC rises.

If you do not pay a fee then miners have no incentive to verify your transaction so it will stay in queue for a long time and keep getting bumped back further in queue.  It can take up to several days to receive your bitcoins.

The fee itself is fine. It is the constantly fluctuating of the BTC value causing the fee is cost more/less for the exact same service.

Oh, you mean the policy isn't effective. Oh, fuck no. I thought you meant the "for the kids" argument isn't effective, which would be completely wrong. Great way to tug at the heartstrings of conservative parents.

Oh yeah that is effective, but is so over-used and virtually the same rhetoric every time.

And it might very well be customizable when the market is fully live. You have to agree though that security on the market should be much higher than the forum.
