Silk Road Discussion / Re: no feedback=heaven for scammer
« on: November 20, 2013, 10:10:02 am »
The problem with that is vendors attempting to obtain a good reputation and thus increase sales are not able to. Everyone has been set back to zero. This is one feature currently holding the SR back, in my opinion.

I would disagree to a certain extent...

Sure, the numerical values and ranking history are no longer next to vendor's names on their profiles.
However, buyers ultimately remember who they had good business with and will seek out those reputable vendors. Once verified, they are very likely to vouch and spread the word of legitimacy.

Feedback isn't the problem at this point. It's just patience and diligence. Assuming the site continues to run, I'm sure the feedback, rankings, and reputation of the top vendors will be restored as it should be. Just takes time.

Many vendors are going by different names for very good reason. Everyone is back to zero. Even if some buyers know those new usernames, they wont vouch for them as it could comprise their identity.

Feedback has been initially disabled to prevent vendors trying to create a large volume of fake sales to get ahead of their competitors and prevent FE scams early on since everyone is on the same level. The feedback system is very close to being enabled however now everyone has had time to establish contacts. Everyone who has already made an order, open or finalized will also be allowed to leave feedback for those purchases too.

Thanks DPR. I have already completed a purchase with an awesome vendor and want to make sure he gets the credit he deserves. That sort of thing is meant to drive sales.

When you send a message out, the chain will appear as titled with your userID. If you open the message chain, you should see the whole thing. Was the contents something that you had previously sent out?

No the PIN is only required to withdraw BTC directly. You can use any of the 5 addresses to deposit and should randomize their use.

Positive press is always good, just ensure you are not endangering yourself in the process as others have stated.

Is getting a very dirty high worth an explosion costing you your life? If you don't know what you are doing, you shouldn't attempt something like this.

Yeah. That would be a scam waiting to happen. Why not order on the road?

If everyone starts from zero and you conduct yourself honorably from this moment forth you won't have anything to worry about.

Aren't you just happy not to be in jail and that someone's currently spending a lot of time and money risking that to bring you this as the man known as 'DPR' on SR did?

This, be happy with your freedom and the fact that DPR and the team have been working so hard to put a new site together.

Not to mention the man currently sitting in jail...

Silk Road Discussion / Re: Time for deposit to confirm from wallet to SR
« on: November 20, 2013, 07:22:10 am »
I'm sorry if this has been answered elsewhere, but using the search function on the forums I haven't been able to find the answer. I sent some btc from my wallet to one of the deposit addresses listed on my profile some several hours ago (the deposit amount is listed under 'recent transactions' but says confirmations '0') and i was just wondering how long it will take for the deposit to be confirmed and show up in my account?

Many thanks.

it still hasn't transferred aaand...crap I just realised I didn't pay a transaction fee in my bitcoin qt wallet settings for some reason...anyone have any idea how long its going to take because of this?  or anything I can do to alleviate my situation?

thanks!

Without the fee it can take 24 hours +.
