Good to see cirrus is well, I'm sure they tried to get you just as bad as the other 3.

If what you say is true that over half the staff was taken out in one day, then it is just you and DPR left standing?

Hope Libertas runs for the hills.

Sad sad day.

As for mods/admins there is Cirus, Chemcat, DPR and I think Sarge still sanding? Sad day :(

Defcon is also still around. He doesn't post much, but he is an admin and was here today.

Given what we know and don't know right now, and OPs track record, I think this is a reasonable summary at this time.

Thank you for your trust.

Loki,

Your attempts to tear this community apart are pathetic at best. The fact that you spend so much of your time simply acting like a child on this forum is a testament to your own selfish motives of promoting the market in your signature.

Go back to your own market where you can continue to be a shining example of what I strive not to be in a human being.

Silk Road Discussion / Allow me to dispell these rumors
« on: December 20, 2013, 10:23:01 pm »
Despite the many theories circulating around this forum, other markets, and clearnet sites, the security of Silk Road 2.0 has not been comprised. Many believe that the modification of DPR's PGP key ties into this, however that is not the case. After being in contact with DPR, I ask that on this point that you trust in my word as I promised that I wouldn't divulge the reason behind it yet.

The arrests today were the continued fallout of the Silk Road 1.0 seizure. Three moderators that were heavily involved in the previous operation were taken into custody. This was done via the data retrieved following Ross' arrest. Some are out on bail but for obvious reasons, they are unable to provide status updates for you all. DPR is currently weighing his options on how to proceed going forward, but rest assured that he is ensuring the safety of all those involved.

I ask that you all retain your faith in the Silk Road, your captain and above all, this community. It is not misplaced in any regard. Those captured by law enforcement yesterday helped spawn the freedom you all now enjoy in the form of a truly open marketplace. DPR continues to hold these values up and will make an official announcement soon. As I stated before, DPR and team are hard at work ensuring the continued existence of the Silk Road.

We are still here...

Cheers,

DoctorClu

Sod off Loki. We are not going anywhere.

Except to jail.

Mods that were a big part of SR1 were arrested. The security of SR2 has not been compromised. You are mocking great men that have accomplished more in their short lives than you ever will. Tell me, if you were to be arrested, would anyone take notice?

The Silk Road stands.

From what I have seen so far today this all seems to be connected to their activities with Ross and the first Silk Road. Hopefully the new DPR is telling the truth and he didn't allow them access to anything important. I think it's safe to say at this point that anyone who had anything to do with the original site can never be allowed any amount of real power on another site in the future.

Exactly. Anyone whose real-life identity was known to Ross AND was an active staff member on the old Silk Road 1.0 could be compromised.

Until evidence presents itself to the contrary, I see no reason to be any more concerned about SR2 that I was yesterday or the day before.

If this is true than wouldn't DPR2.0 maybe be compromised? For him to take over sr2.0 he more than likely knew Ross personally. If Ross did sing like a canary than they probably know who dpr2.0 is and he is on the run as I type

DPR2 did not know DPR1 personally and SR was not handed down to him.  He started this on his own after SR1 was seized and he brought some old mods from SR1 on with him.

This is correct.

Understand that these arrests were based on the fallout of SR1. SR2 simply lost some very good men...

Before people starting spreading more rumors about this - I wanted to keep all of you up to speed that we have suspended Inigo's account until we have some time to evaluate the situation.  It honestly does not look good right now and we're doing our best to find out all that we can.

In regards to Libertas we have no information to substantiate those claims at this time but we are also aware of the rumors.

Several of the staff members had preplanned trips that already began for the holiday break so we're trying to work through determining the full extent of the situation.

More updates to follow as we have them.

Thank you Cirrus. Please keep us posted.

I wonder how DPR's new PGP key fits into all of this..

Was thinking exact same thing.  Something is up for sure.

Please just trust me when I say that his key change has nothing to do with this at all.

"I'm not sure what his login name was, all i know is that apparently he was an admin and then a mod and that he also ran the book club. He is a wonderful person and has been supporting me (due to my chronic pain), so to say the least my world has been turned inside out and upside down. They told me they were making arrests all around the world at the same time....can anyone give me any info on who he was? i'm hoping he was well liked and respected because even though i didn't know he was doing this, I can guarantee he was doing it out of his passion for Libertarianism and for the idea of a free marketplace. Just thought i would pass on the message....."

Can anyone speak to the validity of this?

DPR Edit: Please keep all related discussion in this topic. Stickied.
