Silk Road Discussion / Re: Everyone take a deep breath

Thanks for coming out of the dark and giving the public an update, Hux.

For those wondering, Hux has been with us since the beginning and been invaluable to us new staff members. I'm quite surprised he decided to make himself public like this. Good on ya, mate.

Auto-finalize is disabled at the moment.

The levels of MENTAL seem to have reached fever pitch on this forum.

I made 3 purchases last week, and received all of them, with no problems.....

Why are people going so fucking crazy ??

Because it seems more people enjoy causing a fuss for no reason. Chill pills are sold on the road. Perhaps some here may find them useful at the moment.

Would you prefer the bugs and features are worked on or us provide constant updates? We are incredibly busy. Not many of us are getting much sleep while things are being ironed out. It doesn't help when I return to the forums and find a litany of these posts. Please settle down while the work is continued.

Thanks for this mate. Nothing is abandoned. The ship isn't sinking. We aren't running off with anyone's money. Defcon isn't dead. I spoke with him a couple hours ago. All of us are just very very busy working on the things that people complain about if we don't.

All is well. There are just larger priorities than making official announcements on the forums. Thank you to those who remain patient and supportive.

After contacting Evey and and browsing the messages of the parties involved, it does not appear Telemetree was a part of this scam. Evey has backed off the threats of doxing for reasons I cant disclose here, but they were certainly NOT paid. We don't tolerate this behavior.

It is disheartening to see a prominent member of the community turn to this, but it appears it was planned for a long time and they used the downgrading of their vendor account to somehow justify this action.

This issue is being looked into by the devs. It is not as simple as some may think. If the account is simply upgraded to vendor status again, the orders/listings/profile/feedback/escrow could disappear. We are doing our best to ensure that doesn't happen.

So Clu, if that is the case, why on earth did you tell me to buy the bond again? I don't want to lose my orders/listings/profile/feedback/escrow as much as everyone else.. I CAN'T lose all that.

You could also at least PM me and let me know what's going on

OTBS

Because the bond will need to be repaid anyways. The accounts are being handled on an individual basis. Using the automatic system to upgrade the account could result in data loss but we will not be using that process in this case.

Generally they are processed in batches.

There is a great deal of work going on behind the scenes, but I will ask if Defcon can provide a short update to everyone on the forum.

I decided to do myself a solid and catch a full 8 hours of sleep so I am trying to catch up on what exactly is happening.

Thank you for your brilliant words as usual, Alfred. Allow me to do some reading so I can fully understand what is going on at the moment.

I am having OTBS test that right now. Please dont take it upon yourselves to try it yet. That thinking got you into this situation to begin with ;)

No I am not wrong. You are missing the last bit of requiring 6 weeks vending. The vendor registration page is incorrect and I asked Defcon to modify it awhile back. Apparently he still hasnt changed it.

This would be one of those questions where you should not expect an answer.

Silk Road Discussion / Re: Attention vendors
« on: January 20, 2014, 09:41:38 pm »
Thanks for posting this. The vendors that are seeing this do not actually meet the requirements for a bond refund so for those that seeit, please dont hit cancel or your account could be reverted to buyer status.

We are looking into the root cause.

Clu, care to tell us how long it is going to take?
The only part I am missing is the 6 weeks of vendorship
However I have accumulated around $20,000 in sales in my first 6 days.
Which, in return, paid the road about $1,700 in fees
So, when we saw that it came up with the option to cancel 4 days ago, we hit it thinking we had now been allowed to claim our vendor bond back
We are sorry for this, and we have orders to fulfill and returning as a new vendor, I really don't want to tarnish my name this early on.
I will happily load the money in my account to reinstate the vendorship, if you can assure me it will happen in the next ~12 hours

OTBS

This is what I am checking on. I dont know for sure if simply buying the vendor account back will clear things up. Please wait to do anything I get a confirmation from the devs.
