That is true, Moondog. He will always be looking over his shoulder.

Without these sorts of interviews, we as a community and a movement are portrayed as a bunch of evil, crack-addicted, murderers & hackers. You cannot call it a movement if there is no motion. Remaining silent is remaining stagnant.

We are certainly still in business. Despite what you see on the forums, the market continues to do business just fine.

TragicallyHip - He is not involved in day to day operations at the moment so hasn't been touching any code at all.

This interview is quiet reassuring.

What I don t understand tho is why is he talking more to the journalist than to his community?

This is the kind of message we need in these hard times, fuck the features but hell talk to us,this would have stopped all the bitching and will avoid this community falling apart.

As I said, this interview was done some time ago and was just posted now.

anyone can comment on the reliability of this interview?

http://arstechnica.com? legit source?

why no comment from defcon/DPR2?

Yes this is a legitimate interview with DPR2 done some time ago and must have taken some time to post.

DPR2 has been around awhile now, but it not involved in the day to day running of the site.

"I knew the risk when I took this position, and I am never going to be a truly free man/woman now. All I now seek to ensure is that if I do go down that I don't take Silk Road down with me. Having a single point of failure is no longer acceptable simply because we believe it will protect our users from internal threats."

This is something he used to re-iterate many times to me. That he has no intention of letting the SR fall how Ross let it before. Without going into detail, he has ensured that the Silk Road will always be able to carry on should something happen to him. We have seen this with Defcon taking control. The level of other measures he has in place in extraordinary.

Good to see he called Ross a coward. An unfortunate truth at this point...

Things are constantly in motion, you just may not see them or hear announcements about them. Any large developments will of course be provided. Especially if it involves taking the site down while something is fixed/implemented.

We are always on here. The problem is unless we have something new to offer, you don't want to hear from us.

Yes it is phishing link. Good call on making a different account instead of using your existing one. Thanks for telling us about it, we will add it into our filter.

Thanks RoyalOil. My responses must be business only. This is no place for humor.

I already gave a larger update in VRT that sums up where we are at this point: http://silkroad5v7dywlc.onion/index.php?topic=21899.msg442582#msg442582.

We aren't denying that the AF situation needs to be handled. I don't think Defcon thought that so many bugs that take so long to fix would crop up so quickly. It has now been way too long for AF to be disabled. We are looking into the best way to go about it without upsetting users with legitimate disputes.

It really does. Especially after you start seeing confirmations on the blockchain.

They are pretty awesome. They are actually a requirement of this position. Miss a dose, smash a computer screen...
