Title: What did you want to be when you grew up?

Around the holidays I like to analyze where my life is now, where it's been, and where I want it to go.
We all have big dreams, without dreams there's no ambition, and without ambition there's no motivation to do anything.

I remember as a little one that I had always wanted to be an architect. Going to MIT was my dream.
Although I am in a related business now, I'm not designing the modern homes I visualized in my head as a little one.

What did you all want to be?

I wanted to be a pirate. Watched all related movies and had some books in this field. Also had some pretty deep dreams about this thing which affected me years after I could say. I was five then. Now I can see it was not that who I wanted to be but who I really am. Not the way I am pirate now but yeah, never wanted to be a cop too when playing cops and robbers game, just sought some freedom. And now I'm here, planning a trip around the world, never going to work again.

I wanted to be a fighter pilot....now I realize that the military complex is a system I don't want to be a part of, and there is no such thing as dog fighting anymore. It's pretty much just shooting sitting ducks.

I'm studying geosciences now.

Computer programmer.... my dream was to go to MIT too lol. Now I'm studying Computer Engineering, not at MIT but I think I'd rather be here now.  :)

before middle school i wanted to be in the military...once i got in middle school i decided the "high life" was better for me

who in their right mind wants to grow up?  "responsible adults" seem to be bitter people that can no longer have any fun because of the moral stigma society places on us as people.

I'm a junior in highschool, since middle school I've wanted to be an entrepreneur.
I'm fairly content where I am, selling some herb after school, got a decent business going with that.

I wanted to be a politician, to make things right, but when I grew up I realized that it's impossbru and that there are other ways.

no joke I wanted to be a spy, my parents let me watch all the james bond movies as a kid.

since im a dealer and have a great profession i feel like i have a double life.

Professional Blackjack Player like Ken Uston! Saw a 60 minutes episode about him when I was kid. I can count cards pretty well and I'm profitable at about a rate of a few bucks an hour over 20 years of playing. Barred from one casino's bj pit so far - not sure if it was a lifetime ban. Not sure if I want to test the waters...

I wanted to be a math teacher when I was a kid.
I wanted to be a programmer when I was a teenager.
Currently I am a restaurant manager. I want to be a chemist though, synthesizing drugs and selling them. Perhaps a botanist as well.

I think that would be fun.

ever since I was 8 and heard of LSD, I wanted to be a chemist because I thought that was the only way I'd be  able to get real, clean acid... Turns out I was wrong
