Has anyone else felt like the SR captcha has been especially foreboding recently?
It doesn't help that I've been randomly getting logged out of my account while conducting business as usual. One minute replying to customers, the next being asked for my login info..
after being creeped out by two eerie captcha's, I decided to refresh and refresh, and refresh.. no joke, this is what I got:

Whoah. Something or someone is DEFINITELY trying to tell you something. My Captcha was "state" with a few numbers tonight (I did think that somewhat ironic). I think they changed part of the captcha process, which is good because it was taking me 4-6 times to log in with how hard they were.
That being said, yours are friggin creepy. I'd take heed, my friend...take heed.

you are a bunch of paranoid drug addicts. If Silk road was trying to tell us something, I think he would just tell us instead of leaving cryptic clues to what he is trying to say in the login captcha

my guess is they made a change in the selection algorithm for the captcha; it seems like it's using stems of dictionary words for the first several characters. i for one, welcome our new captcha algorithm overlords. imo, it probably doesn't make it much easier for a bot to login, and yet it makes it easier for us real humans (looks around) to perform what is an inconvenient part of the process.
reminds me of a good password generator out there called SOPPG (sort-of-pronounceable password generator)

Oh yeah? Well, I think SR is in concrete shoes at the bottom of a lake, LE has taken over, and they are fucking with us for the short time until they can hoover up enough evidence to indict the worst 2,000 felons here. And then it's one of the FEMA camps for 'em.

I love the new captcha as well. Doesn't take more than one try when I'm fucked up like all those random letters and numbers did =P

this is perfectly normal optimization being introduced here.
the purpose of the captcha is to make OCR (Optical Character Recognition) difficult for a machine, so that no mass spamming / account creation can take place. to a computer program doing OCR it is irrelevant if the characters have a meaning or not (though one could argue that brute force dictionary attack could be easier, but since those are random, then it's a moot point) BUT it makes it much easier for a person to get it right. I can't tell you how many times I fucked up the random ones. The new ones are much easier to punch in!

And to top it off, every US-based vender ranked above me has disappeared from the SR listings since this started happening!
I don't know about the rest of you's guys, but I can take a hint.

I dont think people realize that regluar LE is not the ones trying to stop this site.. regular police hardly even have any education behind them and if you are an educated person yourself these are not the guys to worry about they are on call to the town that your in and only to respond to when called or when they see that something is going on, If you get caught by a regular uniform police officer you messed up or you told them something, the real LE that SR should be worried about is CIA, FBI, DEA, 3 letter agencies, these are the real police officers.

Okay. So I was just driving my car and the radiator lost coolant. When I got home I strated looking for a radiator specialist in my area using the same browser I access SR. Then, naturally, I hit silk road and the capta was "radia393". I swear on my mother's life.

I am happy that they changed the captcha system, it was friggin' hard to type in the captcha when i was high, i could barely read it let alone type in a bunch of random letters.

The black copters have yet to come over the horizon.
Though in my own paranoid note anyone else notice GreenCo has been gone for over a week? Seems odd.

They're not so creepy. The other day I logged into Tradehill to get some BTC to buy some SR goodies and got the captcha 'NARC' :o

I think it's pretty funny people think all these are just "coincidental" captchas. I have NEVER seen the kind of words that people have posted here ANYWHERE on ANY website, EVER. Even if they're pulling from a dictionary. What the hell are the odds?

It seems they're afraid they've gone too far and blown their cover. I'd advise everyone to stay alert and make sure to report any suspicious activity from the SR captcha. I believe SR has become infested with some sort of bit-spook.

That's not how captcha works. Your bot would be laughably terrible if you just used a list of stuff people have already encountered. Roughly speaking, given the random-number at the end of the words, you'd have a 1 in 1000 chance of your bot getting the captcha right. It would be easier to program it with the ability to figure out what the text is.
