Title: Bitcoin vs Dollar Price
Post by: gainslayer on August 12, 2011, 07:06 am
I was just about to make an order when I realized something was a bit off. The pricing was $185, and it was going to extract 20.98 bitcoins from my accounts.  The exchange rate was 1Btc = $9.17.  The bitcoin total (20.98x9.17) adds up to $192.  I realize it's only seven dollars, but can anyone explain this variation?

SR add a percentage for themselves to each purchase - keeps the site running smooth : )

Well, that makes sense, but even when I switch how the prices are displayed (in my account settings) from dollars to bitcoin, bitcoin always comes out as more.  Does SR only add the percentage when displaying the bitcoin price?

Yeah, I don't think it adds the extra 6% to the USD prices
