Hi guys,
I presume the majority of you know. I only found this out today from a concerned highly respected SR member.
Many sellers such as myself are offering Express or 'signed for' services for their shipments.
DO NOT CHECK YOUR TRACKING NUMBER USING TOR.
If customs know that the IP used to check the package was a tor exit node then they will probably seize the package. So PLEASE check the package number without tor!
THIS IS IMPORTANT, it is a known technique of LE.

With USPS for example, what would you say the chances are a package will not arrive if you track it using Tor?

Use Liberte Linux, it spoofs your MAC at the open WiFi. Use the 'unsecure' browser or you'll be behind TOR...
Just drive around town. There are tons of idiots who have no idea how to secure their WiFi. Have the stuff typed into the form, hit 'track.' You'll have your response and tracking data while looking like you did nothing more than stop at a stop sign or red light...

There is already a thread on this here. I'm not too sure if it is legit or not but its definitely logical.

I haven't used it yet myself. I don't get tracked shipments. If someone does use it, possibly they could put up a review on another thread? :)

I use http://www.packagetrackr.com/. You don't need to have javascript or cookies enabled. Most package tracking sites require you to have javascript enabled.

Actually Courts decided whatever happens on your network is YOUR responsibility. Neighbor torrents? Your fault. Sicko downloads CP? Your going to jail. Secure your networks people. Do yourself a favor.

First of all, I would have to be super dumb to actually sign for a package from any vendor on SL. I want it to land in my mailbox without zero intervention from me. If you sign for something in front of a mail man it usually means you expected it (add to that controlled delivery and you're f-ed in the A).
Second, I don't think you know how customs works and how incredibly inefficient it is. I happen to smoke Cuban cigars, and I happen to live in the USA, well guess what, they're illegal here, guess what, I still managed to have them delivered to my address. Out of the 30-40 packages, I only had one confiscated by the US Dept. of Homeland Security and Border Protection. I tracked most of them. I can assure you there's ZERO LINK between tracking a package on USPS (Yes, you can track Swiss tracking numbers of packages headed to the USA on usps site) and the Customs. The only way packages are flagged is if they're actually looked at or Customs get's a tip. Best you do not send anything with shipping or signature. Best you don't track your shit at all. After all, why would you track something you're not expecting to get, right ;)

I know a LOT of people that got their shit zapped in that sting. I was one of the first guys to order during the xmass sale so my stuff got through. My friends weren't so lucky :(

I feel the need to *strongly* second what th3creeper said. I've been told by reliable sources inside the Post Office administration HQ in Washington D.C. that this is one of the cheapest, simplest, yet most effective strategies they have for detecting illegal products being sent through the USPS. I was told that it was started after the passage of the Patriot Act II, which basically gave the government an open license to search and/or seize anything they had a "good faith belief" contained contraband materials. It also gave them the right to pursue monitoring procedures that would give them insight as to which packages they should be having a "good faith belief" in in the first place. It's circular logic and therefore shouldn't stand up in court, but I wouldn't want to be the guy with 10 lbs of Juicy Fruit or 2 oz of fish scale trying to argue my rights against unreasonable search and seizure in Federal Court. Not many friends of Silk Row among that crowd...nope, nary a one! :)
I also highly doubt that the Main Office of the USPS would inform anyone below an executive level of this activity as they would probably try to keep it covert for the longest time possible. Once the cat is out of the bag, it's no longer effective. Besides, how hard is it to close down your Tor bundle and open your regular Firefox browser, check your tracking #, then close it and reopen the Tor bundle. Not more than 2 mins wasted. A small price to pay to be assured you won't have someone in LE looking closely at your most recent SR purchase. 8) :P

Public Wifi will work in a pinch. Im lazy and VPN into a remote box, or just dont track at all.

The court would definitely charge you as an accessory for someone using your unsecured wifi for illegal activity.
You can always just go near somewhere that offers free wifi and check your packages there and wear a cap just in case.
