So does anyone know why he decided to stop? I noticed that the last few order comments were buyers saying there were issues with usps, etc and it seemed as if they are claiming it didn't arrive. Anyone have any insight?
-
Yes I know why, but It's not my place or really anyone else's place except envious to say.
Not to sound like an asshole or anyhting.
TL;DR: He quit by choice.
-
Yea, you are right. I have never spoken with him but was just curious. I want to be as safe as possbile and when I see that he is stopping and since Im a new vendor, I was just curious to find out a little of the details. Like was he stopping because of reverse scams, etc. I hope that I explained why I wanted to know well enough..
-
No chronicpain it was a personal decision on his part, you should not worry, he might even vend again.
You know you can PM me anytime about you shipping methods or other questions about being a vendor and also use your resources here at the forums. :D

And me as well. That's why we have mod's the stalk this site :D

Yea, Both of you guys have been very helpful.. Thanks soooo much..

Sounds like the honkers are getting suspicious and he's laying low. :-X

Speaking strictly for me, and having no real clue on what happened, I have to say that envious acted in a standup righteous way when shit went down on some sales. He made right some missing shit that I totally believed wasnt his fault. It was a bad week for some of us, leading up to 4th of July, but he made right the stuff on his end, and he's good in my book.
-
Yeah. I assume it was usps problems and he was feeling a bit sketched out. I begged him for one more order (I wanted those opanas so bad!). But he never responded. I figured he just needed a break. Oh well :(
-
Yeah, I hear you: he was the first guy I totally trusted for this kind of stuff..there's a couple others on there right now, doing good, came thru for me both of them...illy and mellowyellow but envious had the beatific dilaudids which are rare and I never figured I"d get any...and I didn't, but he paid it all back...just this kind of shit, u know, always seems to have rain clouds over it, one way or another...
but I get anybody that bails, buyers or sellers alike...lots of stress ...
-
Yes lots of stress!
Esp for such prized items.
I'm a dilly man myself and it hurt but i really respect envious and wish him the very best in his pursuit of happiness. :D

I don't know why, but I can throw a wild guess.. Today I was doing some google searching and found this:
"Manchin asks U.S. Attorney General, DEA Chief to crack down on ‘Silk Road,’ which traffics in ‘any drug imaginable’ and could flood West Virginia with even more prescription drugs"
On that letter, envious, for sale items was on the governments letter as a included snapshot. You can find this here:

Scroll down to the bottom and download the images.
I hope envious comes back, we like sellers with his potential.

Hey I hadn't seen that yet, thanks for pointing it out. Much lulz! Anyway, the reason for my quitting is I had about #20 orders go missing from a drop box. I suspect they were stolen but I have no proof. Second reason is I have had a few customers claim that they did not receive (previous shipments, not the recent fiasco, buyer fraud) and bitcoin volatility. If the option was there to bypass escrow I would still vend, but I will not lose money when committing a felony. This is a serious drawback to SR, and honestly I've said I would quit many times because of the escrow bullshit, but this time I took action. If SR ends up going down or bitcoin plummets before people confirm delivery, I can pretty much kiss thousands of dollars goodbye (which I have already done, twice). Sorry everyone but it's a horrible way of conducting business and I will not do it anymore. Honestly the only way I can see people making money here is if they are producing their own goods. There is way too many points of failure in this system from a vendors point of view. I understand the need to protect buyers from scammers but obviously I am not a scammer and neither are the other vendors that have been around for a minute. There should be a trust system (similar to OVDB) that would allow trusted vendors to work above the escrow and set options such as "Vendor does not use escrow." If this option ever becomes available I will be back in action but until then I will not. Sorry folks.
Thanks to everyone for the kind words... Peace

you should set up on ovdb in future, boost your minimum order way up to 10-20. no escrow and less packages going out. i think that would be your best bet. i would be there with bells on.
-
If I do set up again it will be on OVDB for sure, and SR if they implement this feature. But honestly I don't recieve enough orders on OVDB to take the time to deal with all this. Hopefully things change and this will all just be a vacation. :)

I was in a similar situation this past week. Luckily, the bitcoin made a comeback and I did ok. If it hadn't, I would have lost over 500 bucks on one order alone. With the little experience that I've had here, I think that Im going to keep all orders small and not send out a 2nd order til the first one has been completed. Luckily, I just had a scare with the btc. Other than that, Its been an interesting journey..
But, yea being able to access the btc immediately would help out a lot. Its such a helpless felling watching yourself lose money and there's nothing you can do about it.
I think I would have done the same if I were in your shoes. I hope you can make it back...

I've said this several times--and I'm a buyer--that there should be an optional button to click on, by the buyer, that bypasses or lifts escrow. The result would be the same as the 'finalize' button we have now, but it would have to be honest, and say that by mutual agreement, buyer lifts escrow. and that way changes in value of btc wouldn't affect things, and if there is a problem, it will be understood that buyer and seller work it out among themselves.
It would have to be only for certain sellers: been here a while, or have a certain amount of points. It shouldn't be that hard to implement, since the result--again--is just like finalize. I don't want to click 'finalize' because it would be misleading to other buyers.
This way, we share the financial risk. I won't click negative feedback, if it's a seller I do business with...I don't care if they say, 'fuck, I was sick, I did all my dope up, forgive me, I'll make it right!' ... as I know real well how this shit can go...but on the other hand, I don't want new buyers to be intimidated into not using escrow until they are comfortable.
Does that sound alright to you'all...I think it's a reasonable request, and I damn sure don't want bullshit buyers fucking it up for good sellers...and I don't want sellers thinking they no longer have to deliver and all that. I want to keep escrow, as it sort of makes the place honest, and it's rep is based on this...but once you have a trusting relationship, you should lift it.
I would like to keep buyer's feedback tho, I don't know, that's a little different...I'd like to keep feedback open, just in case things turn to shit a little too often. Main thing is, you don't want it to be abused...
-
Didnt they implement a user to user btc xfer? That would be like bypassing escrow and it would be more difficult to keep track of, and sr wouldn't get their cut. but, it looks like there is a way to send btc directly. it doesn't seem that difficult to make a bypass button, that way SR gets their cut and a buyer can leave feedback.
-
I would have done that recently: when envious took that bad hit, I would have been glad to lift escrow, but I didn't want to click the 'finalize transaction' as that would give the impression product had arrived, and it hadn't...and I also knew I didn't want to leave bad--or good--feedback. I would like to see some kind of balanced option to lift escrow, where SR still gets it cut, and we can still 'negotiate' if shit goes missing. But you have to do this when both parties basically believe in the other's legitimacy.
But that's what's so good about buyers posting threads when shit goes missing: that helps buyers and sellers alike, as--like in this case--if lots of buyers say product didn't arrive, then its on other end, while if it's only one guy, we can calm him down, tell him seller is a good egg, and that he will come through...a couple of times lately, on opiate sellers, this has been the case...the threads inevitably came out in favor of waiting on seller, not overreacting...but it's hard on buyers too, you know...it's rough having money gone, and not knowing if your product is coming or not.
Openness seems to work pretty good, especially if sellers jump in on thread also: then everybody calms down, and realizes we aren't none of us ripoffs, just shit happens around dope, truth be known ;)
