I'm not sure what the OP means by "another" scam... SR has never pulled a scam that I'm aware of...

Thank you for your vote of confidence. I am very proud of my staff. We are deeply committed to serving this movement with integrity.

We apologize for the marketplace's rough performance over the past 24 hours, it was caused by a large influx of new users due to recent prese. The dev team is continuing to expand our Bitcoin infrastructure's ability to process more deposits per minute while preserving server anonymity and security.

To the conspiracy theorists: continue to watch us, and all darknet admins, very closely. You are a true asset to our community. We are committed to you. Our actions will prove our honesty over time, not our words.

Here's to a smooth weekend.

All coins are safe, our deposit system was overloaded from a large influx of new users. Staff is working very hard to respond to your tickets and expand our system's ability to process more deposits per minute. Apologies for the paranoia-trigger.

Silk Road Discussion / Deposit Delays [UPDATED]
« on: May 07, 2014, 09:25:10 pm »
Update: The upgraded infrastructure has been launched, and deposits in the queue are catching up. We are watching the system closely after these upgrades. Staff apologizes for the inconvenices caused by this flood of traffic to our servers.

Community,

Recent press brought a flood of new users into our marketplace. The Bitcoin infrastructure is overloaded. No deposits are lost. We are working to increase the Bitcoin system's capacity to handle the new users.

The average deposit delay is already improving, is currently down to 45 minutes. Click the deposit refresh link after reading this post if you are still waiting, this will queue your refresh request in the new infrastructure.

This is an exciting time for our community's growth. Welcome, new users.

Silk Road Discussion / Unplanned Downtime UPDATE
« on: April 16, 2014, 12:52:58 pm »
UPDATE: All consistency audits passed, we have re-enabled withdrawals. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Community,

We are aware of the current server issues and are working hard to bring everything back online. A big surge of users logged in due to recent publicity.

Will update here when marketplace is online. As always withdrawals will be disabled for several hours while we confirm the integrity of the system, we are very cautious after each downtime event to ensure it is not a diversion while funds are being stolen.

Silk Road Discussion / Regarding Heartbleed
« on: April 12, 2014, 08:15:58 pm »
Community,

Security is a top priority at Silk Road.

We rotate servers regularly, and take many extreme precautions which would seem insane to the outside world, all the way down to how our servers are physically designed.

Protecting this community is a job all of our admin and dev staff take very seriously. We hope that our repayment of hacked funds is a small testament to our heart for this movement. It's bigger than us, and we deeply want our actions to reflect that we're not in this for money.

Recently a major vulnerability was discovered in OpenSSL, one of the dependencies Tor's software relies on.

This vulnerability could potentially allow our hidden service's URL to be impersonated in a worst-case scenario of malicious guard nodes exploiting the vulnerability against us.

Due to our infrastructure's unique Tor implementation which we cannot elaborate on, we are confident that this vulnerability did not affect us.

There is currently no example of an SSL private key being leaked due to the Heartbleed vulnerability, and also no example of a Tor hidden service being impersonated due to the Heartbleed vulnerability.

We are monitoring the situation very closely, but as a staff have decided not to change our URL unless our confidence level changes.

As an alternative to changing our URL, we will be releasing Backup URLs to each user's account which you may use to access our service in the event of impersonation, and in the event of a DDoS attack similar to last December. You will see this on your marketplace home screen once this feature is released.

We are fighting for you. This is a big month for this community, get ready.

UPDATE: SSL private keys are now proven to be compromisable. We do not use HTTPS. We are confident that tor's SSL weakness did not affect us, but cannot elaborate further on why we know this to be an architectural improbability.

CWB was the first to get repayment after the hack because "his life was in danger".  Now stealth is sticking up for him for some reason.  Other vendors would get the ban-hammer and questions would be asked later.

We repayed over 200 BTC to other users before repaying him. Your accusations are baseless.

CWB's situation is a serious matter, and as soon as the Bitcoin infrastructure is back in sync I will be personally resolving this. That will likely mean a ban given the information in this thread. Very disappointing.

CWB: Contact me directly and respond to every post above if you want to stay here. All posts above this line need a personal response from you within 12 hours for me to take you seriously.

Silk Road Discussion / Re: Resolved: Today's Deposit Delays
« on: April 11, 2014, 04:35:51 pm »
We found a deposit issue affecting 17% of our users and are working hard to resolve it. If you have seen deposit delays, your user account is on a shard of our infrastructure which is out of sync. I will update here when it is completely synced.

To help our support team resolve these tickets faster, please close your open tickets when your deposit appears in your account.

If you ever see your coins moving in our internal system, that is another user making a withdrawal through our mixer. Do not reveal users' bitcoin addresses, or any addresses associated with our mixer.

Silk Road Discussion / Re: A Big Thank You to Staff

Thank you for the positive words, we deeply appreciate them. 2014 brought a very hard first quarter, here's to the worst being behind us. This will be a very prosperous year for our community.

Everyone above: reference your support tickets in your posts. Is the issue still affecting you now? We are continuing to watch the system very closely and need to know of ticket numbers to further investigate.

When the BTC price is volatile, buyers are very hesitant to transact. We're down 48% in sales today vs. yesterday. This is typical, we've seen it before when the price has a crash. A surge in orders usually occurs within 3-5 days once the price stabilizes.

12
But to answer your question: we will repay scammed users with their vendors' remaining balances once all users receive complete repayment from the attack.

13
We also tend not to prioritize people with "P.M. me for an Agora referral link." signatures.

Deposited 11+ BTC this morning.  Still not showing (not even as pending) after 10+ confirmations.

This is the first deposit I have ever had an issue with on SR2.

To all with issues, please reference your support ticket numbers when posting in the forums. Staff cannot investigate without it.
