Title: Hero member
Post by: cyberscour on August 18, 2013, 05:25 am
How many posts do you need for the hero member status?

Just for kicks, I want to see if I can get hero before August ends. :)

500 posts and you have to save someone from dying of a drug overdose. Then you get hero status.

Yup. That is why there is not very many hero members. It is hard to verify while still staying anonymous

And you have to be quoted in an article.

Why else would you be called a hero?

I always wondered why I had hero under my name...

Wow... People really got their SR names published in articles?

It's happened on several occasions. Adrien Chen quoted SR forum members in some his Gawker articles, and there was this:

I still remember vividly how bad my overdosing guy was: drooling profusely, the palest sweating skin...terrifying ! Luckily I was there to take him to ER.
The best feeling was when I received that PM from DPR saying : "You're a hero now !" I had to show it to my kids !

Ha go on astor, he quoted you for moaning about the price doubling, only he misspelled your name putting a capital instead.

Interestingly enough, there's no info on hero status on SR's wiki.  I nominate Astor to be tasked with the creation of said article.
