Yes, I've got the exact same message as you have gotten.
Unfortunately I've deleted it and I can't remember the user's name.

Fellow SR vendors, please be cautious!

I don't think it's malicious , they're just trying to drum up traders .

So they're pretty desperate I guess. At least they're trying to go bigger with their operation. Good if they're legit, bad if they're LE or scammers.

Yeah, let me just set up an account on another site over the lure of somebody placing a small order. Fishing for attention lol.

Their site, albeit lacking vendors, just looks weak. I don't know... everything on there seems retail as well, not much wholesale or anything. This is probably why they're so desperate... :P

This site is named after a trade-route that stirred up cultural advancement that lead to the modern world.
Their site is named after a city, that supposedly sank to the bottom of the Sea.

Which sounds more secure to you? lol

I could start a website and call it decapitatedthroatfuckers.org and sell buttplugs and dental floss so I don't think the name has much to do with it. I think they saw an opening with SR downtime and now they need new sellers to cover overhead.

I was joking about the name. But, now that you mention it... I recall purchasing a butt plug or two from that EXACT url. Great minds clearly shop at the same butt plug merchant! Ooo baby!  ;D

I knew this was a trick because I don't even have anything listed but spacemonkey says he likes my products!  LOL  Do you guys get the messages from the member who says he wants to make an order but is $5 or $10 short and asks you for the money and then after you send it he never buys anything and simply asks for more money?

The funny part is the guy came back a few weeks ago with the same username asking me for more money.  I told him he already got me for $10 before and I wasn't sending him any more money and he tried to play it off like he really wants to buy something this time.  I fell for it the first time but how dumb does he think I am?

Hehe.. that about sums it up. I don't trust that place, and for various reasons. Stay away.

Actually they don't need sellers, they need buyers.  They are currently advertising for a marketing executive willing to be paid in bitcoin.

Hilarious!  They somehow have such a bad reputation that they need to hire a marketing executive to help advertise DRUGS which normally sell themselves ;D

Marketing executive sounds sketchy as fuck. Soon we're going to see pop-up ads on the clearnet.

I wonder if this position is salary based or commission based. And what kind of perks/benefits are offered? Is there a 401k? Paid Time Off? Ability to Work From home?  Can you list Marketive Executive at Atlantis Black Market on your resume and list Zeus or Poseidon or whoever the fuck the owner of that place's name is as a reference?

Wouldn't that've been the perfect shot for LE? I'm honestly confused how anyone over the internet could be trusted to be a part of the SR staff, I mean in terms of maintaining the marketplace, not being a mod on the forums.

Yes, DPR did.. but he had also made it clear that the person whom he would hire would be in no way to compromise the "safety and security" of SR. So I trust that. I do remember at the time there was an uproar, and DPR cleared it out that it wouldnt jeopardize anything. And also that he was "blown away by the calibre of applicants". I imagine some serious, hardcore, life long IT geniuses probably applied. And why not? A job is a job is a job.

FWIW, Atlantis emphatically denies being behind this. Someone suggested it might be a person trying to get the marketing job (which has been filled) and the Atlantis admins said that anyone using those tactics would have no chance anyway.

Their last marketing campaign wasn't that much different than this.  They are evolving from spammers who target SR to scammers/tricksters who target SR.

But who benefits from these aggressive and dishonest marketing campaigns?  Either a shameless Atlantis or somebody with an ax to grind with Atlantis.  But who would have an ax to grind with Atlantis?   Nobody had ever heard of Atlantis before the aggressive marketing started.

To be fair, this site's named after a trade route that to this day is renowned for muggings, kidnappings, murder and spreading plagues like the Black Death all throughout the known world at the time, if you wanted to look at it like that!

I'm fair on Atlantis, they're a legit site, they're the Amazon to Silk Road's eBay, albeit much smaller at present, but they will grow to become a competitor and competition is healthy for consumers and companies alike for economic reasons as well as innovation ,think IBM and Apple, MySpace and Facebook, same shit!

DPR has welcomed them, and they have given him credit for his work in the industry... man I do feel sorry for The Farmers Market guys though, they were just before their time without crypto's to back them up (FUCK BMR THOUGH!!!).

There should be no animosity between us all because after all we're consumers and that's good for the rest of us and if the owners of both sites are respectful of one another why the fuck shouldn't we do as they do and utilize them if there's something there you like buy it, if there's something here you like (and of course there is) buy that too.

They have things on their site that I would like to see implemented here that's for damn sure like Litecoin, instant PGP among others.

I checked them out but lost all respect for them when their so called CEO did a question, answer session on reddit, imo thats just asking to get busted and putting all your vendors and buyers at risk at the same time. Not sure what they are thinking doing things like that on the clearnet.
