What is the standard, 3 or 5?
Thanks in advance.

What do you mean by "trust?"

Well put.
Simply I know that vendors won't even flick a booger at you without a few transactions. Just curious how many book collections I will to get because I'll be up all night reading the way it looks.
-
It really depends on the vendor. Some deal with people with no transactions. Some want you to have five priors. Some want you to have 10 priors. Christy wants you to have several priors and to have been a member for eight months. Every vendor is different.

Research and msg the vendors you are interested in doing business with.
Usually they will respond with a msg letting you know their requirements...and sometimes...if you are polite..
they will work with you.
Hope this helps ya :)

Mine is 0.
Ill take all comers new and old and everything stays in escrow with no FE.
:)
As many have said, every vendor is different and each has their own rules.

I did some cheapo digital transactions to get my grip on SR before I ordered physical. In hindsight it doesn't really give the vendor any more reason to trust me when I had $5.00 spent on 10 transactions. Apparently the longtime big stat buyers are the worst offenders for scamming anyway, so just be a straight shooter and if a vendor won't deal with you than oh well, their choice.

Doesn't surprise me. Same thing goes for vendors as well though... many of the biggest vendors ended up going rogue. I'm honestly glad I have more than enough stats to stay out of FE, etc. Back when I first joined as a buyer I narrowly missed several scams.
-
Lot of just depends on the vendor's gut and the tone you communicate when you first reach out to them.
My first transaction on the road involved a top vendor that said buyers with 0 transaction history must FE. I messaged him, explained I was new. We went back and forth a couple times and he said I could order no FE required. I built a good rep with him, and about 10 or so transactions. Then I slowly branched out.
Another thing, vendors talk to each other. So if your going to a vendor for the first time and mention how you've done a lot of business with XYZ vendor.. theres a good chance that vendor will reach out to XYZ. (this is just me assumption.. vendors might be able to verify this takes place).
So build good a rep, and you'll be "trustworthy" (enough). Nobody is ever 100% trustworthy, but there's an acceptable level of mitigated risk when a buyer/vendor has what is generally seen as a favorable reputation.
The hardest part is the initial few purchases. You run the risk of not being trusted, or being forced to FE (and getting selectively scammed). Glad I'm not a newbie!

i deal with anyone unless they have high refund/autofinalize rates...but i know many vendors like people to have at least 10 transactions or a high amount spent.

What is the standard, 3 or 5?
Thanks in advance.
Depends on the vendor - I've had to read every vendor page I'm interested in...then go elsewhere as I'm not up to 10 orders / $1,000 / etc yet.
-
Usually 5.
-
Few transactions and a few hundred spent is fine for me. It's experience is all. Few transactions means they've kinda got it figured out.
-
every buyer have to start somewhere
I think it is stupid if they buy e books .....bought 4-5 ebooks..yeah right
At the moment getting fucked for sure...sold to a guy...luckily a small order (would not sell more anyway)
Total transactions 6
Total spent: ฿4.55
Refund rate: 0%
Auto-finalize rate: 0
Member for: 2 months
But...we have all been here at one point. So I give the benefit of the doubt.....
The order did not arrive, in resolution now....from 1000+ only a few did not make it....this one would be one of them.
Strange that non !!! of my regular customers ever loose a package and that the loss is ALWAYS with a new buyer.
Still try to be positive and give people a chance ......
I know ???
Of course they -non arriving- are banned for life LOL
-
It also depends on what you are selling. Know your clientele
I had one buyer this week with 40+ transactions and over 6k spent try to hold my feedback hostage and extort me. I ended up paying him off and losing money.
I had another buyer that had been a member for 8 months only 15 transactions $2k spent do something similar because he used a fake address KNOWING he already had product turned away. He demanded a deal or else leave bad feedback.
Its hard to tell. Quite frankly the statistics mean nothing to me at this point.
-
Vendors should never 'trust' buyers.
Fucking duh bro.
Or are you asking about vendors requiring you to FE/cancelling your orders....
that kind of trust?
-
Usually 5.
What s/he said. We can get philosophical about it, but if the question is really just "for vendors that require a minimum number of previous buys, how many do they usually require?" the answer seems to be, on average, 5.
-
I think communicating with a vendor helps build trust. I have only had a couple transactions and had one vendor request that I FE and I said no, but communicated with him so that he trusted dealing with me. Some vendors don't really need your business, they have some regulars and hold high standards... you can't work with everyone.
-
That's easy. 5 usually, some 10 like [edit.] said. It is getting rare to find vendors who accept no FE for 0 transactions. I wouldn't, as I believe it is open to abuse.
Piece, Love, and Fuck Haters.
-
I have a qp in escrow with a SR buyer with 50+ buys and 0 refund.....2 days away from auto-finalize......and new people with 10-15 SR buys that are right on the money....and are excellent buyers.....
I believe communication with buyer is critical. The answer to the question is never..
-
If you are looking for statistical significance; that number would be 30 transactions.
The number 30 is a result of simple sampling simulations from different parent populations (Uniform, Normal, Exponential, Triangular) and by the time the sample sizes reaches 30-32, the distribution of the means begins to look normal. That is the reason for "30" as the rule-of-thumb.

nobody can be trusted in a anonymous market. This goes for buyers and vendors. Vendor accounts can be sold without notice.

Well put.
Some vendors do say this on there page as well concerning low stats.
-
Usually I'm picking vendors I am fairly sure I can trust, and just offer to FE upon request in the order. Yes there is some risk that way, but if the other choice is my order is not accepted, I'll FE.
-
We love new customers. Users with 0/0 account for about half of our business and we are happy to stay in escrow with them.
In our experience established customers are as likey to be trouble makers as new customers.
-
Coming from a buyers only perspective. I actually had no problems at all finding a vendor or a few. with literally 0 stats. Its been 9 months since, but nonetheless I had to do a LOT of research before I started ordering.
Anyway, My first try for a small amount of H came through with no issues and has been great ever since.
-
As Tessellated says, new buyers are as good as veteran buyers in our book too.
We only try to limit the amount spent with new buyers so they can stay in escrow.
