Title: Tor Browser on Smartphones?
Post by: akistra on April 08, 2013, 11:37 am
Hello Silkroaders,

I have a few questions about using the tor browser with a smartphone. I know that for Android handys, there is Orbot and for IPhones there is an other program for internetsecurity. I want to now If I can visit the marketplace with Orbot? Is someone experienced with the program?
Really, really like to hear what you're thinking about these tiny and useful programs and if they are do their job.
Thanks!

I have tried using Orbot on my phone but have never gotten to work!
I don't think it a great Idea to be using your phone to access hidden services anyway.

Yes, that's a fact it's not as safe using the smartphone, as using the PC. Bought a smartphone today (the first one I've ever had) I will try orbot, but it's possible that orbot doesn't work on my phone, too. I will try! I like the idea visiting hidden services with the smartphone, but the programs are not as good as Tor, at the moment. Eventually they're getting better after a few updates. Time will tell us. Thanks for your interest.  ;)

Don't. Smartphones are not a good idea, Tor broswer or Onion Browser or whatever the fuck. Just don't. Maybe to browse the forums as a guest and maybe even login to the main site using a dummy account.. but under NO circumstances should you log into your real accounts via your smartphone. Trust me. Have some patience and wait till you're back at your PC/Mac. You want to be the first guy that gets in trouble buying MDMA on your fucking iPhone? Don't be that guy.
