Hey everyone !
I know SR was down yesterday, I finally did get on it but today I'm not able to connect to the site again. Does anyone else have the same issue ???

Same problem here brother, lots of problems today. Waited almost 12hrs for a withdraw, some dude waited 26hrs.

just tried to access the onion. to version of Sr to no avail. so it seems as though the site is offline for a bit... it will be back... As always. glad my hash is already otw :) and I too wonder how much fatter my wallet will be when I get on!

I can get to the login page using the onion.to address but I'm not willing to go any further than that... But the connection is still up. I think it's just getting a ton of traffic right now. Hopefully it'll be up again in a few hours.
*edit* Well now I can't even do that so nevermind. Hopefully it comes back up soon. Fortunately everything is already on the way but I'm like a crack addict the way I'm checking to see if other people are getting their orders yet so I can feel like mine are getting here soon... I'm hoping some of this LSD makes it to me by Saturday since I'm off work on Sunday!

No worries KarmaPharm, I think your customers know you're a good vendor. If SR is down, there isn't anything you can do about it.

SR isn't some secret club. There are articles published about it multiple times every month, and the politicians and LEO's have known about it since it opened. DPR wants the publicity because people coming to the Road is a good thing.

maybe Sr only let's a certain amount of ppl at a time get logged in cause I just logged in and out twice after not being able to at all... If said scenario is the case then I promise to quit Goin in and out so others can take care of there business lol good luck!

I'm sorry DPR, but what's going on here?
We know there's no shortage of money coming the Roads way, so why isn't there a more stable infrastructure for the site? If it's closing due to security updates, let us know- keep us posted. A lot of people have A LOT of money just floating around, and because this is virtually an unregulated marketplace I feel like there needs to be more communication. I also believe that there's either a lack of motivation, or a breakdown somewhere down the line and someone's negligence has lead to this colossal traffic jam. My paranoia is telling me that SR has made enough money, and has started to let the Road slowly kill itself in order to avoid any legal ramifications.
I guess that just leaves room for BMR and sites alike to step in and fill the void. Even though those sites would have to dramatically change some major security flaws before I would even think about using them.

Is it "safe" to deposit BTC to my SR account in times like these (as in unstable/offline SR website) or is there an increased chance of my coins getting lost in space for hours or even days?

The way around this is dragging the image into the captcha entry bar and copy the address. open a new tab and paste the address and usually the captcha image is show there.

what is this bmr and sites alike that you speak of? I have seen a bunch a posts about bmr but no one actually mentions what it is?

BMR actually gets a really bad wrap here on SR for obvious reasons.
They have become more legit than in the past, but still would rather not rely on them.
There are plenty of vendors that operate both on BMR and Silk Road. Like i said though, BMR is not near as reputable. However, it works and the site is accessible and prompt.

Is this just because their userbase is smaller and/or caused by adding less safety stuff or something?
EDIT:
Some days ago I came across this website (can't remember the name and feeling too relaxed to look it up) but it was pretty identical to SR in the way it was set up.
Main difference was the currency used is Litecoin and not really much to buy.
It would be cool to have alternatives for SR, especially if those are faster/more stable but on the other hand it would feel like cheating cuz I this community is pretty awesome.

There's no reason to worry - this happens from time to time, particularly toward the end of the week! Your coins are safe, your orders are safe, and we're all in the same boat with not being able to get the site to load.

This seems to happen every time there is a significant news story/BTC price jump.
My guess is all the newbs wanting to see what it is after they saw it on the tv drive up the price and jam up the bandwidth...

Oh everyone!!! Freak the fuck out!! It makes me sick when people do that lol. If your that afraid, build good vendor relationships and BACK UP YOUR TORMAIL CONTACTS. real people real contacts whether the road is here or not. But god bless this community and opportunity, I now employ 5 people and have my own synth lab and multiple identitys and bank accounts. My life feels like a mob movie lol. Road will be back soon I'm sure.

Lots of new people! I got on this morning and had messages from about 5-8 NEW customers, so new, they are asking what a bitcoin is and why they couldn't just mail me cash! I send them to the forum and give a little info, but this slowness is most likely being caused by the hoards of new people coming on! More customers for me!
BMR is a great backup I sell on both sites and in times like these it helps me keep calm seeing all the sales coming in on there because people can't get it on here! BMR is becoming much more legit and there is even a new beta feature for exchanging BTC for the currency of your choice!

BMR is a lot like SR but much faster loading and less rules about what can be sold. But on the downside, there are a number of scammers, just don't FE ever and you should be fine! Also, there is no auto finalize, so be sure to release escrow when you get your order!

wow im not sure its cool to post that on this forum man but maybe it is i guess anyone could find it with a google search anyway... personally i feel like i have a loyalty to silk road now and would feel weird purchasing from the market.

Sr will be back online soon. Back in Nov is was down for a week, and that felt like an eternity. `that was due to an influx of newbies joining. A lot of my friends have been reading and learning about BTC and i'm sure the word of the road is spreading like a wild fire! If there's anything i've learned from the road is to be patient.

If you had a regular local supplier and they wouldn't pick up your calls, would you go to another supplier? I would and that is how I feel about this, I am still coming back to SR, but I need a place that is accessible to do what I need to do right now. And it would relieve some system stress if we didn't have 10 million new members showing up at once! It's like we are all pushing and shoving to get through this little door while there is another wide open door right next to it!

No offense taken, and I started that off by saying I had a feeling that admin would be mad about it, so I knew I was doing something probably not aloud, but if you look back at the other pages, there is mention of BMR on every page and it comes up every time there is an extended outage like this. If people spent more time searching the dark web and not just using tor for SR and SR only, they would be able to make their own choice. People on here are all about the freedom of choice right? so now each person can make their own decision! And also, BMR works in some markets that SR refuses to touch and will scare off some of the less criminally inclined people, ie. stolen private info, weapons, poisons, and more, there is nothing not aloud there except contract kills and that used to be ok! so maybe you still shop SR for your drugs, but go to BMR to buy a gun or paypal passwords or stolen credit card info.
I had to start there because I didn't have the funds to buy a SR seller account at first. During an extended outage I got a bunch of SR refugees as we called them and then I was able to buy in here. So I have some love for the place that got me started, but the business there is painfully slow and I make all my money here.... When I can get on that is!

Down again, enough time to write a response to a message, but not enough time to send it!
I think this should get out of the media all together, I learned about it by working on a weed farm and talking with people. Then I did months of homework before joining the site, I don't understand all these people that think they can just send money to my paypal or bank account, don't they know this shit is illegal? There is no such thing as stupid questions... just stupid people!
