Title: Two years and only one arrest? LMAO
Post by: ReblzRox on October 04, 2013, 04:59 pm
Big bad alphabet soup boys only snagged the owner. What does that tell you all?

When there is a big arrest made, agents usually fan out all over the county in the US and everyone involved is arrested at once. As far as I am reading, they only got DPR and another fellow from the UK and the UK guy is already out and only sold packaging.

It's looking like that is all they will get that could stick.. This has given EVERYONE time to burn and destroy any evidence that could be used against them.

I didn't get to read the whole complaint against DPR but I do see that the agent states that the bitcoin used in and out of the Road were impossible to trace because DPR installed a tumbler. Bless him!

I wanted to get started again but am now concerned that since some dummy has seen fit to post the rest of marketplaces, BMR/Sheep, plus links to the wikis on the Forbes article comments, there will be more raids on those sites.

Don't know what to do except I'm going to get a secure email addy to see if any of my people want to contact me. Best of luck to everyone. I hope we can all come together again in a safe place.

Yes it appears many went unscathed, and I believe all the other staff is doing okay right now too.  There's a thread on BMR with the other known arrests.  Reddit is also going crazy with conspiracy theories all over the place.

First, I don't think BMR is any kind of secret. Trust me, they know it exists too. They took down the biggest first.

Second, there were at least 2 other arrests connected with the DPR arrest. Here's an article about the vendor NOD:
http://www.komonews.com/news/local/Federal-drug-charges-for-Bellevue-man-involved-in-Silk-Road-226387671.html

And there's another thread in this forum about vendor PlutoPete getting arrested. He logs in on the 4th page of that thread to detail the arrest. It sounds like a fishing expedition in the UK on behalf of the US. He's says they questioned him about a man named "Ross Allbright."

I'm sure there are others we haven't heard about.

The vendor NOD did NOT get caught because of anything at all to do with DPR's demise. He got caught because he used a return address tied to him on a package sent to Alaska that got intercepted, and the buyer snitched and said that he bought it off of SR from a vendor named NOD. They surveiled the return address, and voila! Fucking retard!!

It was just pure coincidence that it happened at the same time.

Hey friend. According to the article you linked, it appears that he just plain got busted on his own with the ABC's then tying him into SR later.

******Sadler sent the drugs through the U.S. Mail, where a drug detection dog alerted authorities to an express mail package. Inside, Post Office inspectors found heroin hidden in a birthday card, and scented markers.
Investigators say they used a return address on some of the boxes to track down Sadler, and installed tracking devices on Sadler and his co-defendant's vehicles. During surveillance, the cars traveled to at least 38 Post Offices in the Seattle area.****

Some may remember the Farmers Market bust. Those guys were all arrested at the same time and all had been being watched for a considerable amount of time. I'm not going to relax at all but I really do think besides the esteemed DPR, they don't have too much. Why didn't they get the mods who were being paid very well to run the site? Now the mods have had the chance to disappear and anything they might have to link to them destroyed.

Personally, I think the feds bust was a *bust* and no BFD for most of the rest of us. :-) That doesn't mean I'm going to run over to the other markets  like some have. I may for awhile but am holding out for a new and improved substitute. I just hope to God someone has the brains to create one.

Yep yep yep! The keystone alphabet crew most likely spend oodles of US tax dollars and most of what they are focusing on is the supposed hit.

Yeah I misread the article. That paragraph is kind of poorly written. But I still don't think that it's a "coincidence" that it happened at the same time. When they were ready to bust DPR, they probably moved on others so that they didn't have a chance to flee.

DPR had been making foolish mistakes since july 2011, and it still took feds over two years to shut down SR. This gives me great hope for the future

This makes me LOL. Most police agencies only bust people when a mistake was made or it fall in their lap.

Most police agency officers are just jocks without a mind to think on their own... :) They should stick to murderers and rapist...

Is expression 'that is government work for you' apply here? They need focus on violent crime and let people alone.

They can't do fuck all but try and disrupt and scare us.....lets hit back with using such methods as PGP and Stealth OS's like Tails.......all they are doing is trying to scare us because of the arrest of a "leader".....i guarantee you if the trends go on and they continue to arrest two or three people in a few years time its just gonnna go bad for them. Once the public and everyone knows we are fine and just moved on they will see how unstopable the people really are.

We need to be smart though. Run VO or OS's like tails and COVER YOUR ASS!!!! everyone needs to use pgp for EVERYTHING! now, lets go sell some drugs :-)

Cheers Cirrus, selflessly working away in these uncertain times. I'm glad DPR was right on his instincts when he selected you for Mod.

This arrest  is like a multi million dollar heist -conducted by by law enforcement.  Would be very interesting if we had the ability to track some of those coins.

Another thing we should take into consideration to build confidence from: They haven't seized any noteworthy amount of drugs... (yet). For the guys in the agencies who love their stats that must be emberassing.
