Title: What the hell happened to my BTC
Post by: ZeBishop on September 11, 2013, 11:06 am
guys, im having a different issue, I ordered BTC from my usual site, www.getbitcoins.com.au which ive used 4 times before, Got new address from my SR account, Bought the coins in the time given by the quote, 40 mins later i had 8 confirmations and could see it was sent to MY address... So i figured soon it would show up in my SR account... But NO. I check my blockchain an hour later, it says there is another transaction that transfered my 1.69 BTC (which wasnt available for me to spend yet) to 2 seperate random addresses. What the hell has happened? The guys on getbitcoins.com.au responded very quickly and explained that if im using a desktop wallet (which im not) to check if i had a virus.... If im using a third party wallet (Silk road) to message to admin and ask for an explanation immiediately.... Obiously i haven't gotten an answer... But wtf do i do???? Also i can't make any topic's for some reason....

My account hasn't been compromised, There is Still all my BTC i originally had there, Also the BTC never NEVER showed up in my SR account, So whoever stole it, Stole it before it even was available to me..... Silk road staff tried to send me automated message saying that my answer can be found on the fucking wiki..... Like are u serious? This is the closest thing i found, And its NOT my situation

" Someone withdrew funds from my account

If an unauthorized withdrawal was made from your account, it most likely means your account was compromised through a phishing site. You should change your password and PIN as soon as possible. Unfortunately, your funds are irretrievable. "

Any help would GREATLY be appreciated

So basically your btc's haven't posted to your account yet?  I know you said you have 8 confirmations, but how long ago did you send them?

Libertas cant handle anything. He dont know the wiki himself as u can see here.  Everyone can write 'read the wiki' dpr should get a fucking bot for that and dont waste his customers nerves and time. dont understand how he cant see that he loses tons of customers with someone as incompetent as libertas. That creates a lot of anti sympathy because it doesnt reflect the usual netiquette and professionalism here. It makes me feel like what it is - an incompetent guy taking care of my problems and probably even my security. I have yet to come across a thread where libertas made something good and a customer was happy that he helped him. Not that i had the chance to as i wasnt online for quite some time, but his attitude alone tells me there is no such thread and there will never be one.

Shame on u guys. Boo

I have the same problem by the way. 14 confirmations meanwhile. It was all confirmed 2 hours ago and i still dont have the bitcoins in my sr acc.

Yesterday i had the coins right after all confirmations were made.

Silk Road is currently experiencing minor deposit delays.  You are watching Silk Road's tumbling mechanism when you see the coins being transferred to another wallet address.  Please contact SR support in 12 hours if the deposit still has not arrived and they will take care of it.

Mine is at an 8 hour wait with 66 confirmations and nothing on blockchain shows it having done anything but be received into my bitcoin wallets address and its sitting there as "Unspent"... So if its not even being thrown around the tumbler and I still dont see it, whats going on?

Jack is right, the standard I always say is 12 hours before sending a message to SR support. Sometimes there are delays in the withdrawals and deposits regardless of the confirmations.

b0m, you're making it sound like Libertas pee'd in your Cheerios and made you eat them- relax.  The guy does more for this community more than you'll ever know and he is always trying to help people.  That is off-topic from the post and has nothing to do with the OP's question so don't redirect this thread because of your personal issues.  Take it up with him through private message if it concerns you that much.

Too bad noone sees anything from what he does but directing people to the wiki. And protecting scammers. Is he responsible for the new changes? I wouldnt be surprised as the whole system highly rewards scammers and makes it close to impossible to separate the scammers from the good sellers anymore.

example: hazebusta (about the most obvious scammer) who had 96,4% before the change now stands there with 4.9
Dutchmagic (a star seller top 2% after a few months) had 99.9% and now stands there with 4.7

What a joke this system is. What kind of indication should that be? Now as long as u provide enough fake feedback u will be fine and ur statistics will not fall anymore. How poor u guys are going for such a system? it is way worse than the % system which made it quite easy to spot a scammer.

Anyway back to that case. It is not off topic. It is on topic. The customer support is so bad that i dont even write to em anymore. Its a waste of time. U will not get any help from this guy. On top of ur problems u will have a faq telling u to read the wiki while u read it more often than himself. Another punch in the face besides the actual problem. Nobody needs such a customer support. Anyone competent can see that this guy sits in the wrong position.
U cant even talk with him. he answers so unfriendly and from above while in fact he is so down under. it is just ugly.

People who contact the customer support gets a message before that telling them to read the wiki. If they decide to contact the support anyway then the support SHOULD take care of them and NOT tell them what they read before they contacted him. No matter if the problem is solved there in the wiki or not. If he doesnt do that then he should fuck off and do something he can. And let someone competent, who loves what he does, take care for the customers in a way they deserve it.

They sure dont deserve to have a faq telling them what they already know.

Its nothing personal between me and him. Its something that concerns the whole community. Everyone who has a problem has to count on this guy. And i dont see one indication why this guy should be trusted in any way. But i see tons of reasons why he shouldnt.

i was just wanting to respond to this as i am also having the almost identical issue i tranferred my coin from my localbitcoins wallet to a newly generated address here around 9 hours ago it is showing 70 confirmations and has yet to show up in my silk road account i have never had to wait this long so i know the feelung this guy is having one of dread and doom and panic and such.  I feel a little better seeing that someone else is having the issue.  I know my account has not been compromised because i still have the same amount of money as i had before.  I know that this is pretty redundent but from the way i read the thread what you are saying id that the money will eventually show up am i correct? I mean i have never had any issue before and i am just trying to figure this out and stay calm and be paitent i really appreciate anyone who would take their time out to help people out in these kind of issues when its really not their problem to begin with im just quite ignorant when it comes to the whole block chain and the tumbling and such so any information or opinion would be greatly appreciated

I got the same problem guys .; (32 confirmations for now, and still nothing on my SR account ..

and thank you for that information :

You are watching Silk Road's tumbling mechanism when you see the coins being transferred to another wallet address.

I was really scared to see my money from my SR bitcoin address going to multiples addresses !

I'm bummed about this too. Actually our score dropped overnight and suddenly from 5.0 to 4.7.
There are no 1/5s (especially none with any high score weight) to explain this drop. I contacted DPR who took the time to reply to me, unfortuantely he says "it adds up". After I explained my case three times I believe he's now looking into the matter more seriously. It does not make any sense at all.
