Title: How do people afford a $500 bond?
Post by: NoWhereMan on August 31, 2013, 01:04 am

I came to SR extremely excited and ready to start moving the large amount of Dilaudid and Heroin i have on-hand.

During the seller registration i was greeted with the section where you deposit 4.03 BTC. I about crapped my pants. It explains that its a bond and is returned in 30 days and after you reach a number of sales.

Am i the only one who thinks this is absolutely crazy?   I understand this is a attempt to stop scammers and bad vendors, But dont you think this also limits the people who can sell on the road and also EXTREMELY unfair?

Seeing how accounts used to be free, people who have been around a while or created a number of backup accounts never had to pay this "BOND"

I understand it is returned in some time, But seriously, i have more dilaudid on-hand then i know what to do with, i have a good amount of other drugs i would like to sell aswell, I DON'T BUY THEM, I am a source, i don't have $500 just chillin in a wallet somewhere, And i don't have $525 i can go deposit, pay a shit-ton of fees, and buy 4 coins to send to SR.

There should be another option for people

Yeah, unfortunately the other option is to find somewhere else where there is a market that exists where you can make your deposit plus multiple times more.  You come here because you have the support and customer base to possibly make much much more.

It's not unfair at all.

It helps keep the marketplace civil and scammer-free to an extent (although there are always scammers).

If you are a good vendor, you can get your bond back after 6 weeks & $1,500 in sales.

If you have so much good product, you won't have any issues hitting that target. Then SR will refund your bond.

You need to spend money to make money.

Cirrus is correct; the support for vendors and buyers alike on SR is unparalleled anywhere else, and you will have a massive amount of people who may want to purchase your goods.

Nice post Fear the Reaper, and yeah, you are spot on.  So many people have been burned by scamming vendors that the $500 deposit is like pennies in comparison to that which can be made through the marketplace.  You buy into a secure, established market, with a huge customer base.  It's worth every penny especially since it's refundable.

No offense brutha, but if $500 is a problem for you then maybe a market where proper distribution costs quite some money for postage, stealthing and just general good practices might not be right for you just yet.

Don't even start if you're short on gas money to switch out mail drop-offs every day.

$500 is nothing is your a professional and know what your doing. Now how about other supplies? Like MBBs and a high quality vacuum sealer adds to your expenses.

If you can't afford $500 then you shouldn't be a vendor.

If no bond, then there would be loads of scammers, LEO, etc.

It's really common sense to why there is a $500 bond.

If you really have all these drugs, walk down to the nearest ghetto corner, sell a small amount of the large amount of drugs you have, buy BTC with your profits and stop whining.

I think I better lock this one as resolved before the OP takes anymore flack ;)

As others have said NoWhereMan the bond is there to act as a deterrent against scammers just creating sellers accounts and running off with peoples bitcoins, if you don't have the $500 for a bond you might struggle with other aspects of setting up your vending operation, something to think about anyway.
