Title: Auto Finialize
Post by: bud2bud on August 21, 2013, 11:34 pm
I really don't get it how this works. When I made an order, I don't think I was given a choice for A/F to trigger at certain point. I think I read somewhere that the order is 17 days on, until A/F trigger, and, I thought that the money would stay on SR until the package is received, and I press the finalize button, but it seems to have been triggered right after the package was posted.

ordered: August 18, 2013, 12:00 pm UTC
shipped: August 19, 2013, 10:00 am UTC
finalized: August 19, 2013, 11:00 am UTC

How can I keep the trigger for finalization to myself?

Order auto finalize after 17 days at which time funds are released from escrow to the vendor. If you need to extend the finalize date you need to move the order into the resolution center before the 17 days has past and request and extension, just moving the order into the resolution center adds 5 days.

Looking at the timeline you posted it would appear that you finalized the order yourself by clicking on 'finalize' soon after the order was shipped.

I did no such thing! Is this some kind of a bug in the system?

How do you know you were "hacked"?  You can still log in, correct?  You still only see the item YOU purchased, right?  But now your pin isn't working?

Seems like from your statement, "I don't think I was given a choice for A/F to trigger at certain point." that you're really not too sure if you did or did not press the finalize button.  Either way if I were you I would hope your order shows up, and that you learned a lesson to go a bit slower next time you order something.

If you already forgot your pin you have 5 attempts until it will automatically reset after a 72 hour period.

There are only two ways an order is finalized, it either auto finalizes after 17 days or the finalize button is clicked. If your order finalized before the auto finalize date then the finalize button was clicked, either by you or someone else.

Okay, what I think happened, was that I used the same credentials in atlantish service, that bugged for some reason. i think it was a phishing site. Now I can change my pin and password, so, after all, I think who ever hacked me, logged in, and did not change my password, because i had no money on my account, just pressed finalize.. I'm very careful with my orders though, I would have not pressed the auto finalize myself. Thanks for caring anyways. Off to buy some drugs!

It's unfortunate that this happened, but safeguarding your account and being extra cautious of unknown links is good habit to get in from here on out. Good luck! :)

I can't believe people are still falling for the Atlantis phishing site scam creating accounts with the same credentials as SR.
