Title: Possibly received bunk instead of acid.
Post by: bitcoinbaron on August 15, 2013, 11:28 pm
I recently ordered 50 hits of white on white for ~4 BTC from a certain vendor that has a very good reputation here on the Road (99% positive feedback, over 300 transactions, and is vouched for in The Avengers LSD review thread). For this reason, I had no problem finalizing early, as I had only 9 transactions and little over 5 BTC spent on SR, and the vendor required FE for buyers with less than 10 transactions / $1000 spent. However, now, 3 days after receipt of my order, I have decided to test it (well, a good friend of mine tested it for me).

I gave him 2 hits of the acid (which the vendor claimed to be 120ug-140ug, supported by trip reports in the Avengers thread). He took one, put it under his tongue, and waited until T+00:20 to swallow it. By T+03:00, he was feeling absolutely nothing, so he took another. Fast forward to now, 21 hours after the first hit, he didn't trip at all, despite having taken 2 hits of 120ug (supposedly) blotters.

I'm worried I got ripped off. However, after reading the SR FAQ, it would appear that once I've finalized, I have to work out any issue with the vendor. But if this vendor did sell me useless paper (which I'm not 100% convinced is the case yet), I cannot imagine I will get a refund.

I'm going to be testing the blotters myself tonight, as well as ordering a few Ehrlich tests so I can be 100% certain that what I have is (or is not) bunk. But if I indeed got ripped off, is there nothing I can do aside from changing my feedback to negative and alerting other SR users of a scam? It would really suck, as I spent quite a bit on this.

Unfortunately, you are correct.  You have no recourse except warning others and changing your feedback once you've finalized.

Hopefully you can work something out w/the vendor :/

I have the same issue but it's with soma. It's most definitely fake. I messaged the vendor a couple days ago but no response. I had to finalize early because it was only my third purchase and leave him great feedback. (No problems with my first two orders.)

The vendor has very good rating but I don't know if he knows the soma was fake. It was Indian-made and in blister packs. Or, maybe vendors know they can send the fake stuff to new buyers who have to finalize early, in order to scam them, because they have no repercussion or way to get their BTC back.

I will message him again but will have to figure out how I can change my feedback to say he sent fake soma.

To change feedback already left, you go to Account > View Feedback and click edit for the feedback you want to change. But make sure you give the vendor ample time to explain themselves; if it wasn't their fault and they are honest, they might try to make you whole.

This ^  You should give them some time to respond and make things right.  If you aren't satisfied you can always change your feedback.

Yes, he posted on his page that he was behind on emails so I sent him another one and marked it URGENT. He really does seem to be a good vendor so I don't think this was done on purpose. I'm sure he thought it was legit, and maybe some of the lot was. Apparently (from my googling) this brand has been known to be counterfeit in the past with other people reporting the same thing I noticed.

Thanks for the info about how to change feedback - I will definitely give him some time to see what he can do about a partial refund.

Well, I don't know why my friend didn't trip. As it turns out, he had taken 2x5mg hydrocodone pills earlier in the day, but he still should have tripped given the large amount of LSD he consumed.

Anyway, I tested it myself last night, and I tripped pretty fucking hard. As I'm writing this, I'm still coming down. Needless to say, I'm no longer worried about the legitimacy of the cid I got.
