Title: Is there a way for SR admins to step in and cancel an order?
Post by: brodie on July 30, 2013, 06:16 pm
Ordered from solidrain  friday and he waits till today to tell me that he didn't have the product and tried to get me to buy his cheaper listing. I told him to cancel the order (literally 2 minutes after he messaged me) and 3 messages and 45 minutes later, STILL no response... Idk what his deal is but is there any way for someone to cancel the order for me since he clearly doesn't have the product I wanted and is possibly avoiding cancelling the order???

I'm pretty angry right now

No, you have to wait for resolution now. Maybe he's trying to re-stock the product as we speak.

He just messaged me back saying "I found one I had prepackaged and will send it out today" and honestly I'm not sure what to think

for some reason I have a feeling i'll be getting his cheaper listing with the expensive listing's name written on it... but I will post a review and SolidRain has been nothing but polite despite me sending him multiple messages asking to cancel it

sorry if I came off as a dick SR, but you would have too in my situation!

Hey if we don't agree on something, it doesn't mean we have to disagree on everything. And I've been more than one on a lot of occasions, forget it.
I thought he might chase supplies, as he doesn't want to lose the sale I suspect. But if you think that's the case, I would stick to cancelling and find another vendor. Good luck.

Sorry, but SR admins cannot cancel an order for you.

Is there any actual reasoning for this? Not that I need it cancelled anymore, my order was supposedly found and sent out today... but we'll see how that goes

There are many reasons.  For one thing, imagine how easy it would be for buyers to scam vendors by waiting until the order is shipped and then coming up with some bullshit story to tell admin in order to get admins to cancel the order.  Also, SR isn't about holding your hand through the buying or selling process - it's a free market and everyone needs to take responsibility for their safety, security, and their successful (or unsuccessful) orders.  The option to cancel an order becomes available to you 4 days after placing the order if the vendor hasn't yet marked it in transit.  If they've already marked it in transit but you never receive it, then you can take it to the resolution center to resolve the problem with the vendor.

Yeah I guess that makes sense.

I just found this browsing. Just to let you all know, it all worked out, the buyer got what he ordered, I had just forgotten I prepackaged it and sometimes when you update your quanitites on the Road, it may not take. I've also had that happen. But most of you hear know me and my reputation, he definitely got what he paid for. Fire!
