Post by: wotda? on July 29, 2013, 05:09 am
slowly ploughing my way through the process, with kids & work not happening quickly though. up to converting bitcoins and was hoping for any recommendations? i'm in aus and checked out mt.gox but it stated if accessing through the Tor network and/or public proxies account may be suspended - is this standard? any and as much advice as possible is appreciated. is it possible i'm being 2 paranoid or is this the better way 2 be? thanx,

Hello and welcome to the forums.  Check out the Silk Road wiki page for more information on buying bitcoins. There's a link to a clearnet site that contains a list of reputable exchangers.  Good luck

yea since it's legal to buy and trade bitcoins, it's perfectly normal to have a clearnet bitcoin account.
you can set up another layer between your clearnet bitcoin account/wallet and your sr wallet though, and should be a recommended process.
just DL a wallet client that you send your purchased bitcoins to and then send them from that wallet to sr.
