Title: How come these forums did not recognize my ID for S/R? I had to repeat my name.

Is this a completely seperate site?  I thought it was important to make posts on here if you are new to gain trust from vendors, but how will they know who I am if this isn't part of the real S/R site?  Sorry if I sound retarded, but I am noob, but looking to make purchase this week.

The main site and the forums are related, but separate, so you have an account on each.  Vendors won't care much about your forum reputation - the important stats are that of your buyer account on the main site itself.
