Title: scammed by EnjoyTheBitcoin
Post by: lsssd on July 13, 2013, 09:56 pm
i need to speak with an admin because i had an open order for bitcoin from vendor EnjoyTheBitcoin, his page isn't up anymore and i believe i was scammed.
i understand that the nature of this purchase was technically out of escrow, and according to your FAQ you guys don't offer support for this but im wondering why he was even allowed to make an account for this service? as well why haven't i been notified of this his vendor page being taken offline with my ordrs unfulfilled?

If the vendor's profile no longer shows up and it's just a blank message, then that usually means the vendor has been demoted or is being investigated for scamming.  However, when this happens it doesn't send out a notification to anyone with pending orders.  No one gets notified.

Bitcoin transactions can't be supported because they don't take place within Silk Road's escrow service, so it is always risky to buy your bitcoins from vendors here.  It would be better to get them elsewhere like a legitimate clearnet site or localbitcoins.com.

i dont want to be the person crying wolf here sorry, but i hope this gets sorted out. im definately not in a position to be lost these few bitcoins i hoped to get. if this vendor does to turn out to be a scammer, will people with orders be notified? and knowing that a vendor paided $500 bond to post his services, is that money used in anyway to recompensate the scammed customers, or does it just go to DPR?

as you know from reading the wiki that you referenced, SR cannot support bitcoin purchases and are not able to refund you if you are scammed in the process.

do you have a link to the vendor in question?  i searched on the main site but couldn't find a vendor by the name of "EnjoyTheBitcoin" ...

in normal situations for non-bitcoin orders which go through the escrow service, buyers with outstanding orders will be refunded as long as they have remained in escrow and not released the funds early.  however, since transactions where you're buying bitcoins don't go through escrow, orders cannot be refunded.

I got burned on this one sent $250 thinking it was all good and he had good reviews on his profile. well as it turns out if you put together a vendor agreement and pay the $500 they where able to advertise the scam on here and set up the transfer of bitcoins without the added advantage of me the customer allowed to give him a bad review. They on the vendors side was able to put up good reviews every couple of hours making it look like a real and good deal was working. I blame SR for allowing this type of scam to perpetuate it self by having the capabilities to put up the reviews. BTC is getting very hard to purchase anonymously right now in the USA and all the places I used to purchase them with cash has stopped. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. I haven't been on here in a year I come back and get scammed first thing. I will have to go and buy my shit in the hood from here on out at least I know what to expect and be prepared for it up front. This place has a lot of variables to make a transaction from beginning to end and all the stars have to align each time. Great Ideas here and someday it may work better for all and no one will get scammed  again. This vendor Enjoy The Coin only canned maybe a couple of thousand dollars not really a payday in my book. Whoever you are and wherever you are I hope the KARMA comes down on your stealing ass so hard your eyes pop, Good luck with life it won't last long.
