+1 I think I recall seeing they seized something like 26,000 bitcoins when they took the site down. Back then that was 3.6 or so million USD. Based on today's rate of appx $500 a btc, that is 13 million. There's no way this site has those type of funds to cover all the seized coins, and even if there was (which there will not be) there is no ledger of who had what coins at the time of seizure. It's unfortunate, but like Synergy said, just the reality and the risk we all bare.
