It's technically legal to import up to 3 months of a non scheduled drug into the usa. tramadol isnt scheduled in most states and most likely is something similar down under. I have even seen small quantities of scheduled narcotics get through us customs(even after opening and searching).(they were in pill form) but then again, ive seen them confiscated too. Now, if were molly or weed, you would have received a different letter.. Edit: Technically, Ultram (tramadol) is now considered an opiate. when it was first released, it wasn't considered one. Then they discovered that it has weak MU opioid agonist properties. If you are opiate naive, you will feel it, but its not as strong as codeine. In fact, you need to be careful taking it as it can cause seizures at the 400mg level and above.
