Im the last person to have my hand out, but Nomad has a point. The mods are here for the good of the community. I would be here if I received donations or not. I really appreciate all those that have donated or even just said thank you.

As mods, we volunteered our time and dont expect to get paid. That said, being a mod is 10 times harder than it seems. No matter what happens, Ill always be here to help. But give what you can, even a thank you note is great. But, this is a very time consuming project and every bit counts. While Im not saying that I want money, I just wanted to point out what Nomad was trying to say. He puts in a lot of time with very little in return.

Granted, we all volunteered our time, but I don't think we all realized the time it takes to keep this site up and going.

All Im saying is if you are in a position to give,  please do so, if not, a thank you would be great. just knowing that what we do is appreciated is awesome.  I dont want to sound like I have my hand out, I dont. I just want to point out that it takes a lot of time and effort to keep the boards up to date and runnning.

I think Nomad is correct when he wants to charge a bitcoin (or whatever) for every question answered. He probably has 50 or more pm's in his box daily, and thats on the light end.

So give if  you can, but dont feel guilty if you cant. We volunteered our time. To take some of the heat of Nomad, why dont some of you send me a pm and Ill see if I cant answer your questions. IF I cant, Im sure I can find the answer (ill ask Nomad, Just kidding, lol)

Thanks for letting be part of a great community!

As a buyer, you are safe (unless the bitcoin skyrockets then you will be kicking yourself and the vendor will reap the benefits)

As long as the vendor hedges, it really doesn't matter what the bitcoin does. And yes, you are right. Once you have purchased the product, you are locked into that price. But, if the bitcoin drops, and the vendor didn't hedge, you will see a lot of them cancel the order, they dont want to take the loss. I have never done that, most reputable vendors won't do that, but some small time vendors have no choice. They cant take the loss ( i believe if they cant handle the swings, they shouldn't be in the biz)

But, we are really talking about 2 separate things..

Mito, theres a big difference. If the bitcoin is at 3.90 and I buy 1k worth and 2 days later it goes to 5, Ive made a lot of money..I lose a lot if it goes to 1 dollar. it has nothing to do with what the bitcoin is attached to.  you are just looking at is as a buyer. but if your a seller and you didnt use the hedging option and the bticoin dives, the buyer can be screwed. that is why you see a lot of sellers cancel orders when the bitcoin drops.

It would take too long to explain why its good to buy the bitcoin when its low, but do some research on Forex. That will give you a good idea. but what you are talking about has nothing to do with what Im talking about...

He has fucked with the wrong person. Not only do I want the original money that he stole, I want double. (For my inconvenience and asshole tax.) I cant give up too much info, but lets just say Im really close on finding out who he is and his location.... Its taken a lot of work, and honestly, this will cost me more than I lost, by a long shot, but It has to be done...

(Its amazing what type of info you can get when you hire a good private investigator)....

So, Brian, If you want me to stop, just ship me 2x what you stole, and I will call off the dogs....

i just made a thread about the same thing. The weird thing is that one thread disappeared and now its back.. Something is going on.... I dont think its moderators moving things or deleting, because there would be some kind of explanation... I wonder if someone has hacked into the forums...

A lot of that has been going on around the internet lately...

I still think its a great time to buy. Even if it goes down further, keep buying. Then your average cost will be quite low.. I think you will see a lot of bitcoin investors doing this. I wish I had the funds to do this. Ill do it as much as I can afford, but this is a great time to invest... I wouldn't go crazy, but a few hundred, why not?

I already posted this, but for some reason, I can't find it anywhere....I also did a search and didnt find any posts regarding this, so if its already been posted, please forgive  me..

Anyway, Bitcoin7 was hacked! Here we go again.. Not only were they hacked, but all groups associated with them that used the same servers were hacked. They lost almost all their money.

I signed up at bitcoin7 but never used them. I cant remember what password I uised, but i never use the same password for anything to do with bitcoins or SR. But just to be safe, Im changing my SR  password, just to be safe..

As I predicted yesterday, when the bitcoin was at 4.50 cents, I posted to sell or buy what you can with your bitcoins because its going to nose dive. And its dropped another 60 cents then...So, i still would pull out or just hold  on.

Whoever stole the bitcoins are just going  to flood the market and get rid of them, they dont care what they do to the market, they just want as much money as they can get..

Keep an eye on this, this will be a great time to buy if you can get close to the bottom. but, the only problem is that more faith will be lost in the bitcoin and who knows if the value will recover...

I see it going to at least in the 2 range.. Im just speculating.. dont do anything because of what I say.. do whatever on your own free will. It might even go lower.. it will depend on how much was stolen.. if it was just tens of thousands then the worst is probably over, if its a lot more, its just begun...

445
Probably both.....

Ill let everyone know how it turns out. I know there have been people thinking that I was stupid to pay out of escrow, etc. but I figured, what the hell, and took a chance. Hopefully, I made the right decision. Regardless, ill post the  happenings here.

If he comes through, he will be considered a very trustworthy vendor. I think thats what his goal is to become.. He would have gotten em out today, but there was a bit of confusion on my address. So, he waited til he made sure that he had the right one..

So, hopefully Ill have a tracking number tomorrow...

(fingers crossed)!!! IF not, its only money, lol...Plenty of tall bridges to jump off of..lol...

For some reason, someone keeps removing my posts.. I WAS SCAMMED BY THIS ASSHAT!!! HE GOES BY THE NAME OF SoreB on the market.. I had a big old thread and its gone now. can a guy who starts a thread remove posts? i

10x 32GB HP Touchpads (w/ cases)
« on: September 26, 2011, 03:19:29 pm »

    * Quote

I have 10 HP Touchpad 32GB's available and 10 HP Touchpad cases are included.

I would like to sell them all together but here is the pricing:

1 for $150 (29.59BTC)
5 for $650 (128.23BTC)
10 for $1,150 (226.87BTC)

The cost of shipping will vary depending on order size and destination so what I suggest is that shipping is paid after the order is shipped. This will give us accurate shipping prices so neither party overpays on shipping. You can check for a shipping estimate if you want, the package would be shipped from the states.

The only payment method that is available is bitcoins. You will be required to pay in bitcoins (the cash equivalant) which is calculated by the weighted average on mtgox at the time of purchase. I put the bitcoin amounts in brackets but these prices will obviously fluctuate so keep that in mind.

Let me know if you are interested, thanks.

Yes, they did go on sale for $99 (actually the 16GB's did, the ones I have were $149) and I picked up a large quantity of them for a bit less than that price when they went down. I sold off quite a few for above retail already. They are now sold out where I live, not sure if that is the case everywhere. I tried checking around to get an idea of pricing but I mostly found people looking to buy, and not really anyone selling them. The price is negotiable though and I am willing to drop it a bit. Keep in mind that a HP Touchpad case is included with the purchase.

That's definitely overpriced.

I will pay $80 + the shipping with your terms for one of them with the case.

My apologies for overpricing the units but there was not much to go by to determine a fair price to sell them at. I am hoping to get rid of them soon though as I have other investments that I need capital for.

The best I could do would be $100 a piece. Shipping included on orders of 5 or more.

Thanks

Thank you :)

I probably should have researched the price of them a bit more before posting them for sale. I'm hoping to sell them off quickly though so I won't fight to up my profit margin. Even breaking even is fine with me right now, I made a lot off the rest of the load that I had.

$100 each + shipping (billed after item is shipped) or buy 5 or more and get free shipping.

I am hoping that I can sell them all together.

Thanks

chronicpain ya git, not that it matters im in the uk for a start, and i managed to bag one from a local shop that still had one in stock earlier this week, but since seeing it my friends have started wanting them too and are all now pulling my trick of popping into various carphone warehouses to see if they still have one left. are you keeping one for yourself?

Here is basically what happened.

This is like my 3rd attempt to type this..

Well, Im big enough of a man to admit when he got beat.. Yes, silk roaders, I was ripped off. It just stung me, didn't hurt too bad. The emotional part of getting ripped off to me, is almost worse than losing the money. Im just glad I didn't lose more than I could afford.

Someone else on the board was taken as well, but he had the good sense to use an off site escrow service that I never heard of. Im sure he will get his money back.

His name on silk road is ScoreB so buyers beware. He says hes from canada, but I have found ainfo about him that will hurt him. he Actualy lives about an hour or two from the boarder, not right across like he wants everyone to believe.

If you go out of escrow, dont pay more than you can afford to lose. I guess thats a good rule of thumb. That way, it doesnt hurt as bad. Im just glad that I gave him bogus info and my a good friends/relatives address to send to. But, I have a lot of good info about him. Anyone that can help me find his location, would be a great help. Im really close.

im just fortunate that im in a position to where I could lose a little bit of money. I just wanted those touch pads. I only blame myself, no one else. Its in my nature to trust, I will adjust to shit like this, but I wont let it change who I am. I always will be an honest, giving, loving person. When things like this happen, naturally, it makes you want to be like them, and screw the world. but, im bigger than that. Ill take my lumps.

Its sad when you cant trust 99 percent of the world today.. My best word of advice is never go out of escrow unless you know that person and have done more than one transaction and if its out of escrow, never pay more than you can lose and always keep it to a minimum. People that scam are just scum of the earth. Cant earn money on their own. He gave me thiis shpill that he went in for a job interview on one of the first days and it seemed like a minimum wage type job. what a fucking loser..

But, im over that. Ill be posting all the info i have regarding this scum. Ill do it after I have used it, he he....I dont think he realizes the resources I have (and friends) I just dont want any more SR'ers to lose money to this type of scum. Ill be ok. (ll be having a fire sale to help me recover from this, however, lol) At the end, he wanted more money, (this is when it was confirmed that i was scammed) and I had a hell of a time messing with him.. he thought he was going to get it a million times.. Just because you get scammed, doesn't mean that you are stupid, lol

So, if you want to help me out, you can when I have my fire sale next week..Trust me, they will be great deals...

Don't feel sorry for me, just learn from it. Dont trust anyone.. The funny thing is, (now, you Canadians, don't take this personal) Ive only been scammed by canadians. maybe its because most of them are very nice natured and are very believable.. but i thought that was interesting..

PM me if you would like any more info....

EDIT: The good news is that I was able to get a 64gb white touchpad (they were only released in France and not many were made) the person on ebay didnt know what she had and I got a great deal on it. I didn't realize that you can put linuz (ubuntu) on them as well as android (soon).. so, this device will be very handy. its so fast, i guarantee you Ipad lovers would like them.. But it will be nice to be able to have 3 different operating systems on it.. Plus the 64gb is nice too.... So, theres a silver lining......
