There are ways to store BTC's Online sort of safely ...  (Rolls Eyes)  but it costs ya....



Armory is quite good as an Offline/Online BTC Wallet....
However....If you Do the Research....
there are a few more Options...some, better suited to one person better than the other  ;)

Always change the wallet addy after each successful transaction.
Always change your passwords, using a combination of letters (lowercase & capital) symbols & numbers....
Sorry that happened to you  :( 

the one time that i had an online wallet, the same thing happened to me...i transfered some coins then a couple days later went back and the rest were gone :( it was only 1.2 btc's but from that time on i never used an online wallet again.....
