The escrow system is fine. Don't try and over complicate things. If customers don't want to FE that's fine. If vendors do there job properly everything works out fine

CaptainWhiteBeard

Requiring FE means escrow is NOT working.  I'm suggesting doing something that allows customers to have some protection from unscrupulous vendors AND unscrupulous site owners.  If customers think they have to watch out for both how long before this business model dies?

Of course we are going to be requiring FE on all purchases now.  We'd be fool not to, but that is NOT a long term solution IMO.  What you are essentially saying is that this incentive structure where site owners can spend a month or two building out a site, a month or two building up trust and a clientele, and then run off with literally millions is sustainable.  Its not.  The incentive structure is too skewed.  And with your "solution" there will always be enough customers with money on the site and enough new vendors who can't ask for FE to make the honeypot super attractive to scammer site operators.

The escrow system worked for 2 years on SR. If you don't FE then customers ARE protected. There's always going to be risks with drug dealers. That's the business. But we now have the luxury of ordering from home and having our drugs posted to us while maintaining our anonymity
Just a general question are you a vendor, Is that what your doing? Just curious?
There is always going to be a risk with marketplaces online, that is because everyone is anonymous. You can't change that. If vendors are careful and regularly withdraw BTC, they will always have profit even if they lose thousands. Same with customers.
Are you saying SR will run off with your money? Best thing is to wait a few months at least before you join a new marketplace to stop the quick scams.
I think you are forgetting how lucky we are to have sites like this. First world problems...

I am starting this thread to discuss things that are just almost non-existent in this market today: Honest Vendors.

This is going to be my thread about my actions, how I support my customers and go out of my way to build relationships that are long lasting both ethical and moral.

Today I lost $100,000 USD in bitcoins with the raping of the totally unsecure and shitty-why-the-fuck-did-I-Sell-there Sheep Market place.

Proof:
https://minus.com/i/4ESU3oHiFtkL
(Add up the BTC in wallet + escrow = 99k at current btc value. Give it 12 hours and it will be 100k)

I would like state first off that I absolutely withdrew my coin several times a day because I was scared shitless of exactly this happening. With them closing withdrawls and my orders already shipped, there was simply nothing I could do. I kept on shipping orders because I genuinely thought that there was a issue with the tumbler being implemented and just was in the normal pack and ship routine of pleasing my customers and getting things out promptly.

Even when i found out that we were all fucked, I STILL SHIPPED MY LAST ORDERS. I did this, fully well knowing that I would never see a penny for it. Today 1LB in order's went out that I will never be paid back for, fully well knowing this prior to shipping.

Here's a message I sent to one of those lucky few who thought they were fucked, but had the fortunate chance to have ordered from me, instead of 'someone else'.

https://minus.com/i/bc6bcV1nhWPs6

I would like to state this openly and broadly:

I believe in karma, and I believe that my actions will come back to me tenfold. I have faith in what I am doing, and fully believe that I am supplying GOOD MEDICINE FOR THE PEOPLE. I do a lot of business out of escrow with regular customers, and never once has there been a issue. I am the kind of person that if your pack doesnt show up (which has only happened once in the past few months), there are no questions asked. I simply reship your order, end of story.

With that said, I need to say it: I am sick and fucking tired of getting raped. I am sick of working 18 hours a day doing this business, only to get ass-fucked not ONCE, when SR went down and I lost *everything* (under a different alias), but TWICE. After the original SR went down I had to borrow money to buy weed to re-sell it on here. I've rebuilt the business from scratch all over again, and gained many great customers in the process, and once again lost pretty much everything I had made.

If you see the amount of BTC in my wallet/escrow in the screen shot above, you can understand how much business I was regularly doing on sheep. People LOVED my weed, and I offered it at such incredible prices that everyone would always come back for more. The percentage of my re-occuring business was GREAT.

This thread is going to be to show what kind of person I am, with PROOF. That I will NEVER fuck a customer, no matter what the situation is.

I can no longer trust ANYONE. I dont trust this new SR, I dont trust any other market. The truth is that regardless of how intelligent the admin's are, regardless of how secure the system is, it only takes ONE bad apple to ruin everything. Most systems *fall from the inside* and this has been true for most large societies, and is especially true for these virutal societies we create here.

I am going to build my reputation, and NEVER again am I going to work in escrow. I have proved over and over and over that im a HONEST legitimate vendor only to get raped over and over. This thread will be my testament, my proof of my backing and my actions, so that ALL of you can read this and go "Okay, this guy is legit. If I F/E with him im going to get my shit". It doesnt matter if you order a QP of 5 pounds....F/E and you are going to get your product.

With that said, I would like to welcome everyone to my current sales. I have reduced prices and everyone can join the party. I have TONS of high quality weed at low quality prices. I am here to provide.

I am going to have my customers chime in to verify my legitimacy and honesty, so that its not just me tooting my own horn.

If any of you would like to support me by becoming customers, I am open for business (and have been for a few weeks, but things are very slow here for some reason!)

Serious question, did you have $100,000 in BTC sat in your wallet. If so why did you not move some out before or were they all tied up?

For all I can tell he is either:
1)Omnipresent
2)Dedicated his life to trolling, and has a electrical generator hooked up to his modified keyboard generating electricity with each keystroke, essentially getting paid to troll by the power company.
3)???

Haha you know what the keystroke idea is genius!!

Great im never going to get a vendor account on SR now! This crazyness never ends!lol.  This may be a good time to have the old system implemented where you could become a vendor by just clicking the ' become a vendor ' button and having the funds in your account.

CaptainWhiteBeard

This feature will be implemented.. We just need to give development more time.

If you PM'ed me, I will be catching up on the backlog soon. I have 100+ PM's. I have 1 day off and it takes me 3 to catch up.. Please give me time, Or post in that thread provided for a quicker response as all Mods will be working it.

I mean new vendor applications thats all. Is it worth PM' ing you or posting in thread or just waitng till the 4th them PM'ing you?

CaptainWhiteBeard

Sorry CaptainWhiteBeard. DPR Is absolutely swamped, and right now he is the only one who can take new vendor applications. You will just have to wait until the 4th.

No problem i was just checking. So much FUD gets posted on here i forget correct procedure sometimes. Will message him on the 4th. Cheers mate!

Its simple. If you want to vend. Don't put in more than you can afford to lose. Because if it all goes tits up then.. well sob stories on forums like you see.

Its the same with any investment

The current system of trusting site owners to control the bitcoins in our accounts and in escrow is broken.  Too many people have been ripped off either by scamming site owners or law enforcement.  We need a new, more flexible system that will protect all of us.  This problem is by no means isolated to black market sites -- bitcoin exchanges regularly go belly up either when the exchange owners walk away with the funds or they are "stolen".  Its the perfect crime as its untraceable and there is zero chance (so far) of being caught.  Its just too tempting.  My concern is not so much with the exchanges but with the black markets sites themselves.

What can we do to protect buyers and sellers more effectively?  On the vendor forums I proposed a new system that allows buyers and sellers to negotiate their own transaction arrangements based on their own risk profiles and the reality of each unique buyer/seller relationship.  It would work something like this:

Vendors can choose what policy they are comfortable with:  vendors that like the current escrow system can use it.  Vendors that don't can opt for a separate mechanism for transmitting coins from buyer to seller.  Such a mechanism could be, for example, where the deal is agreed to on the main site but then the transaction is performed by the buyer simply sending coins directly to the seller's private offsite wallet.  That way neither the buyer or seller is at risk from the site owner stealing their coins.  This could be combined with a 50% before, 50% on delivery (or whatever percentage the buyer/seller agree on) payment schedule.  The vendor would then be responsible for paying the site owner their percentage of each deal, with the site owner able to lock out vendors who don't pay on time.  And of course feedback/reputation management would still happen onsite.  A combination of both methods is ideal so that new customers who don't trust their vendors yet can work onsite while trusted relationships can move their transactions offsite to reduce exposure to both site owners AND law enforcement that may be trying to trace payments that flow through black market sites.

The truth is that vendors can move offsite with trusted customers anytime they want to as it stands.  One thing this solution does is give vendors a reason to stay onsite rather than migrate their long term customers offsite.  It also takes away the huge incentive site owners have to rip everyone off.

I'd love to hear other ideas and comments, especially from customers!

The escrow system is fine. Don't try and over complicate things. If customers don't want to FE that's fine. If vendors do there job properly everything works out fine

I don't understand....

I understand the "revelation of cryptocracy, fine. Whatever, do what you gotta.

But why continue to set up markets, only to knock them down? Profit is not the goal, so what is?

Why haven't I been killed yet? Am I to serve some greater purpose?

The fuck is going on man.

Fuck that its too cold out there! Time for more whisky and a fat cigar!

This aches my heart....

There does need to be alternatives in place for Escrow. Someone suggested in the Vendor forum an ability vendors should set to have pre-agreed upon refund policies. Say a 40% refund policy that all buyers agree to would be a vendor gets 60% of the coin the moment the order is shipped.  It's a good idea in my opinion, and would solve a lot of issues.

Interesting but then buyers can always get refunds/scam and say their product hasn't arrived. Or am i still half asleep and need more coffee haha!
