Why?
Because the upcoming x-mas-closure is the main reason why we all  have to FE for almost every order with almost every vendor here on SR2.0! Because the orders won't arrive before closing-date and so nobody can release Escrow anymore.

So please, this is not a very good argument imho :-)

You don't have to all FE with every order, that's up to the vendors and you. But if you do FE you have the risk of them not sending anything and you losing your coin. That is the whole point in escrow you can release when you get the product. You just won't be able till after the break. Seems simple

You're right: I don't have to FE. But also if you look in the profiles (also of very reliable and trustful vendors),
(nearly) everyone insists on FE this week 'cause SR-closure.
Sure I don't have to FE --> then I don't get the gear I wanna have. That's imho a bad alternative.
I don't complain. It's my own decision and these reliable vendors won't scam at all I'm sure; so the risk is
minimal.
BUT: the meaning of Escrow is getting lost these days before SR-closure, if nobody accepts anymore.

Look mate of course i understand where your coming from and i am not denying it is an inconvenience. I would rather stay open as well, i just got my vendor account and want to sell and make some money lol ( and also get some treats for myself)  But i have decided to put my listings up when it re opens However i still believe the week off will benefit the customers and vendors in the long term and a week off for a smoother start to the year is going to pay off. That is my main point. I am not arguing, i am just trying to put this out there for people to understand. Remember SR 2 was rushed out so there's a lot that needs working on

Its a shame about the recent non paybacks. I reckon everyone should be vigilante because with the closure for a week, Xmas and new years there may be an influx of people wanted to grab coins and do one. Stay friendly and helpful but if your spidey senses tingle ( like the guy who posted every day recently) trust your instinct!

It still gives the message about DDOS attacks no matter what, I've tried that method now dozens of times and it doesn't work.

Lol. CaptainKissAss gets owned again. Closing the market is yet another sign of weakness and the lack of the 100% dedication this site needs to succeed.

I think closing the site for a week to make it better and more secure is pretty dedicated. Or would you rather the site keeps having problems and then you complain about that?

As an ethical vendor I feel that its not appropriate to go offsite with customers that were found on the site.  That said, if the site will be down during a period when certain vendors normally do large amounts of business -- e.g. before New Years Eve, its hard to expect them to give up all that business.  The way I see it is any customers sourced from SR should be handled through SR unless its down.  While SR is down we can handle email or other types of orders just until the site is back up.  Any other system just leaves vendors completely at the will of the site and is just not fair.  After all the hits so many vendors have taken over the past 3 months its pretty harsh to expect them to also forego the increased business period surrounding New Years.  Any site that would ban a vendor for doing this is not looking out for the health and diversity of its vendors and, IMO, may not last long if other sites formulate policies that are more sensitive to vendor and customer needs.

We are all adults here, and if a customer wants to trust a vendor they've never worked with to handle off-escrow payments that is their business.  While there might be some scams (aren't there always), the vast majority will be solid and happy transactions among willing adults who understand the risks.

Are you still playing the ' oh the poor vendor' card? It is getting old.
The current SR team are not responsible for the old SR getting shut down, atlantis and sheep scam, BMR disappearing and current downtime. It is an underground black market. It is not amazon. You make a lot of money as a vendor, the pros far outweigh the cons.
The closure over xmas is to make the site more stable. You should be happy. But you never are
