Why would DPR send a journalist a message that he was going to run? this was before the arrests...or after they happened that he messaged her?FWIW, DPR was planning the exit from the moment the arrests happened.
Astonishingly, he took the time to PM me that he wouldn't be around to help on the book any more and to strap in for a "very rough ride"

It wasn't anything dramatic. It was a personal message, not writing to me as a journalist and was in response to a message I sent to him (pre-arrests), telling him I would be hitting him up for more info for my book early in the new year. He said he wouldn't be around that long and that it was going to be a rough ride. This was about 2 hours after the arrests. I got one more PM from him after that and I committed to keep the not being around info to myself until the official announcement was made.

As many of you know, I have been largely silent since the transition of SR1 to SR2. But smelling that our community was in a time of need, the silence has been broken.
Might I take this opportunity to add a few words to the mix:
This is a confusing time for our community. But it should not, in any way, be a time for separation.
Now is the time we need to pull together even stronger than ever before. Remember what we have built, what we have worked so hard to create, and remember that for most of us, Silk Road is about much more than just scoring drugs - if it wasn't, none of you would still be here, knowing that the Market had planned downtime over Christmas.
It makes me proud to see so many of you fighting peacefully, but relentlessly, for freedom.
Let's never let our community be disbanded.

Just one last update USAsupply - I did finish all my duties before I quit, if your not a vendor yet then you will have to wait until Defcon completes the automated Vendor Registration feature.
The staff here have a list of everybody who paid bond. SR Will continue on with my absence, They have a strong team here.
