loving the thread guys, keep spitting mad rhymes lol

Hiniguel can go away and have a rest ,he was busy enough as a vendor before he even started helping people out. Give the man time. I have spoke privately to him on many occasion and he is a good guy. Everyone needs time a way from this place sometimes.

Who here is still experiencing this and would be willing to aid in helping me try to repro it? I just need one person who has a buyer account.

I keep getting told there is no feedback option mate, from customers.

When I first logged in I was relieved to find that I only had a relatively small amount of BTC in "Pending Balance/Escrow" but then a trusted vendor cancelled an order that I had thought was already on its way and to my dismay this amount increased significantly. And now I am worried that when I am able to access these funds they will have depreciated significantly.

The other thing that irritates me somewhat is that there seems to have been little to no visible action taken against some of the known scammers whose listings are still up and who are (presumably) still profiting from the unwary.

I am now going to be a loudmouth (but hopefully not of the kind I deplore) and repeat ideas that I have already posted in other threads, but only because they are fucking brilliant.

Apologies if you have already been bored senseless by my repetition of these ideas in other threads, but it's only because I believe they would work. Please let me know if you find it tl;dr and I will provide a simplified version.

Anyhoo, the following is an idea that I have been suggesting for some time now, (at least since Valentine's Day), because I feel very, very strongly that it would be an effective and efficient means to recover the credibility of Silk Road, and help to defeat scammers and possible scammers.

... I believe Silk Road should have its own team of Mystery Shoppers, who can make secret, anonymous and random purchases from any and all vendors, provide detailed feedback on each of these transactions and ultimately make an informed and unbiased determination on whether or not a vendor is a scammer. If for example, the Mystery Shoppers place an order with a new vendor and

Additionally, bring in a new probation period where all new vendor accounts would be subject to rigid limits as to the amount and price of their listings - the probation period could be set to a specific time, or alternately, a vendor could have their probation lifted once they have been vetted say three times by Mystery Shoppers and have been proven to be legit and honest.

The very concept of Silk Road is revolutionary in the premise that it represents - the possibilities of a world without borders, a global market free from interference from petty nation-states, where individual self-responsibility prevails over unjust and obsolete laws (in regard to non-violent and victimless crime such as recreational use of substances) and thus it represents the ultimate expression of liberty and the purest form of the free market.

However, as a wise man once said, "the price of liberty is eternal vigilance" and thus we must regulate our own community and defend it vigorously from subversion from within and intrusion from without.

In my opinion this vigilance can best be carried out by the community itself, in the form of "Mystery Shoppers", community members working in secret to establish the bona fides of new vendors, to investigate complaints, and to guarantee that all SR vendors are worthy of trust, by eliminating any who are not.

I have some relevant real life experience with this kind of thing and would gladly contribute knowledge, time and help in any way I can.

I have said before, mystery shoppers is a great idea. SR staff wont set this up so a group of us here on the forums need to create it. Im willing to get this going with you mate.

Silk Road Discussion / Re: Still doubting Defcon?

Hahahaha!
thank you staff for stealing all the coins and now funneling them to a select few of your forum buddies! here here! lmao

you guys are I.N.C.R.E.D.I.B.L.E.
Exactly.  This  "payment", if it happened,  proves nothing, especially coming on the tails of the vendor BBMC's announcement posted yesterday.  If Defcon wants to PROVE something, then let  him repay some of his most vocal critics.  A post from one of them saying they'd been repaid would have a lot of credibility.  Oh, yes, I forgot.  We haven't asked him NICELY.  Sorry, when it comes to my stolen money, I'm not going to be nice.

This.

Please pay me back my £430 now Defcon. I'll even give you my SR's accounts password so you can log in and see that I am not making this sum up. I don't feel like waiting couple of months to get my money back.
I am leaving too.  If I had my vendor bond back I would have been gone.  Please repay my bond now.  It would be a double benefit for Defcon -- he would get a post that proves he repaid at least one person and he would be rid of a strident critic.  If I were Defcon, it would be worth $500 to me, that's for sure. In fact, if I were Defcon, trying to keep the confidence of the community, I would have paid me back a long time ago.  And I would have been gone a long time ago.  So how about it?  Instead of "repaying" a long-time buddy, repay someone that everyone KNOWS wouldn't lie for Defcon's benefit.  It would be the best PR you could ever do right now.

It is not about repaying a buddy, it is about paying people whos lives are in actual danger due to them losing their money. SR staff and kind fellows like Hiniguel have been doing this.

All owed money will be paid back eventually i guarantee it. If it isn't then i will personally step away from the site. That's how much i trust SR and the team.

He is around and he is helping people, He is in the process of helping me, I'm in a lot of shit and he's said he can help me and should do tomorrow :) I really appreciate what he's doing, it gives me faith in the SR community and SR itself.

Great to hear. This is the true SR spirit :)

That is a huge glitch.

sigh...

Just going to be a spectator for now :-)

Its not a glitch. Escrow is deemed unsafe as coins were stolen last time. Defcon has stated they will only return with a multi sig escrow which is way more secure.

I'm talking about the inability to leave feedback.

Ah apologies.

Hopefully a mod can chime in.

Did you FE? Cos until you finalise there is no option for Feedback.

There is no choice to finalise, it finalises when the vendor marks shipped.

Really, so everything is automatic FE atm is it? Anything else changed in the buying process?

Exactly there is no escrow at the moment. It is all explained in Defcon's sticky announcements.

Don't think there is anything else that has changed.

Hear a few people saying that after buying and the vendor saying its shipped there is no option to update feedback. Is this a known issue?

Cheers.
