Title: CAN'T WE DELETE THE BTC ADD'S
Post by: 420SLINGER on January 08, 2013, 07:14 pm
the admin's delete this guy's account if I wasn't admin on this website I would be embarrassed that this is going on on my site is like the guy has completely free reign on the forms.

I see there blacking his adds out but still wouldn't it be easier as an admin to just delete his account

has anybody actually been gullible enough to get scammed by this moron

We have to delete the threads one by one - if an admin is on when they're spamming, they'll delete their account(s) but if an admin isn't on, then I and the other mods just have to delete them one by one.  Doing the best we can to get to it as quickly as we can!

wow That sucks  I wish you guys all the luck If there is anything I could do to help let me know

:)_  taking a bong hit for you guys

I think there needs to be a forum upgrade so this doesn't happen again, there should be some kind of block txt that won't allow a post if it has a website. I wouldn't mind helping out to mod and get rid of spammers.

+1 Cap. Cause you're awesome. And because I can.

Am I that fucked up or are they using bitcointalks.com as their new websitein their spam ads? ...isn't that a spin-off or exactly the name of a legit site? Isn't the legit site a btc forum?
Soo confused. Regardless, thanks to all the spam murderers! I love you.

Bitcointalk.org has eliminate the trolling spam scammers a long time ago.
It's a simplemachines forum too, like this forum is.

The mods here do not seem to mind.
Not serious enough, to do the same thing as bitcointalk.org has done.

Tackle this problem once and for all.

this scamming prick is making a mockery of SR, surely there is something that can be done, it looks highly unprofessional  a scammer having free reign of the forum.

There's nothing I can do about it other than to delete the threads one by one along with the other mods.  Or, if an admin is on, they can delete the accounts.  However, none of us can be on 24/7 .... I'm on for over 12 hours a day deleting the spam as it comes in, but I do eventually have to sleep and eat and do other work.  I'm certain that it's the same for the other mods too.  Again - we're doing the best we can.

Can we limit the amount of new topics that an individual account can create within a period of time?  How many new threads are people really creating?  If these assholes can only create a couple threads per day it would be a little easier for the mods to keep up and clean their accounts.

I realize they could counter this by just creating new accounts and continuing but it would at least it might slow them down a bit.

Do we just need more mods?  Maybe also give mods capability to block an account from posting temporarily until the admins are around to verify and delete the accounts which have been flagged?

Just throwing out some ideas...
