Title: Quick BitCoin Question - Vendor vs. Bank
Post by: sagerox99 on January 01, 2013, 09:39 pm
So in the past I've purchased bitcoins by using cash deposits through bitinstant.  I know that tons of people prefer to buy them through vendors here on silk road, even when they charge a 10-20% fee.  I'm wondering what the advantages are since I still have to go make a cash deposit.  The money goes to them instead of bitinstant, both of which seem anonymous enough.  Am I missing some obvious reason why buying through a vendor is better?  Thanks

Huh?  BitInstant doesn't allow cash deposits anymore...?  Are you talking about the TrustCash bank option only, or they're shutting down their moneygram partnership too?

Yeah, just making sure you didn't know something that I don't or anything: I try to stay current on all the bitcoin developments, and you never know where you might get information.  Thanks for clarifying :)
