Post by: ArmTrax on December 28, 2012, 04:15 am
Read on here a while back that bitinstant took a shit. I have been off the road for a while, but thats my favorite way to fund. Im thinking of taking a road trip, and I need to know if bitinstant is working again or not?

Thanks guys!

Yea, it took me a couple days of long research to find a reputable trader, but it pays off to find a good trusted site instead of trying to get some quick coins and getting scammed.

What do you mean by "reputable trader" The green dot card vendors?

Care to enlighten me on the best way to get bitcoins now to save me some time in my research? I was planning on getting my coins tomorrow. Would like to be able to stick to the plan.

Hit up CaptainMal on SR. If there is a bank of america near you, he'll give you his accnt info and you go up there and make a deposit into account like you would any other bank account. go home send him another PM on SR sayin you sent it, include your SR btc address, then just like that he'll send you the coins, taking his respectable fee per transaction. It depends on how much you deposit. works really nice though. way easier than bitinstant/online wallets.

I'm from Canada and what I'm saying is that it took a little research to find an exchange website that is legit for my country because I don't feel like sending cash though the mail and waiting 5-14 days for bitcoins to show in my account. What I've heard recently about BitInstant is negative! Don't quote me because I've never used their service, but they are easily the most popular way for US customers to get their BTC anonymously and fast. Other users should spread the light on whats going on with BI at the moment because recently I've been hearing some mixed reviews.

For those who it helps....

Fill out a money gram bit instant deposit....

Use a fake name and fake phone number....

use a legit e-mail that can't be traced to you.....

remember all fake information....obviously.....

head to you local Money Gram Location (Walmart)...

Make an express payment using the money gram phone...

repeat all the false information.....

continue to customer service...pay the specified ammount...they have NEVER asked to see my id...

if they do...make up the classic excuse you don't have it with you...otherwise say adios muchachos ...and try another Jewel Osco...

I literally have the BTC's deposited to my account as i stand at customer service...i know this because i receive an e-mail instantly to my phone

If yer not in USA...then i have no info for you sorry =(

I have not had any problems using Bitinstant.  The option of going straight to my wallet is really convenient, I get my bitcoins within 15 mins usually.  Key points to remember is that you will not need an ID, but the info you enter online must match watch you use when you get to the store.  I use my local walmart, its a different person every time and they're as clueless as could be.  Nothing illegal about buying bitcoins, and its pretty difficult to trace where exactly bitcoins are going and to who their going to/from, especially when you're careful and toss them around a bit through e-wallets on tor.

Bit of a contradiction? I  don't recommend having anonymous email linked to your phone. Unless I'm missing something here?

Probably right...but buying BTC's isn't illegal... and i am quite a little fish in the 1.2 million dollar business that SilkRoad advocates.

So if wanted to up security i would have a throw away e-mail that i only access though through open connections...obviously have a drop point with no drugs or paraphernalia at that specific locations...encrypt everything...and use fake info to purchase BTC's  Am i missing any other precaution??? I know there is Liberté Linux you can use to access the tor network through memory alone, but that seems a little extreme for some weed and xanax lol.

I'd love to get some feedback on others  beliefs...feel free to share!
