Title: euphoric drug-like effect (exercise)
Post by: tobascosauce on November 11, 2012, 02:20 am
I was biking to work last summer (25 mile ride) and about 10 miles in I got a flat and had to walk the remaining 15 miles.

When I got home I took a shower and started drinking whiskey and I felt amazing.  Euphoric and just amazing.

Yeah, I've had moderate euphoric effects from eating insanely spicey foods.

it's because endorphins are released (and the stress hormone, cortisol, is decreased) that you feel happy/euphoric/high after exercise.

And your blood plasma may be getting a frightening work out (which is good lol) ;D

Sometimes during really intense cardio workouts, my pupils dilate massively, and I seem to get mild visuals.  I get a euphoric rush that permeates my entire being, as if I'm on some really good Molly or Bees.  Someone told me this is from all the drugs stored in my fat cells being released...  I think it's just endorphins, though.

Endorphins are a pain response, so yes, large amounts of capsaicin will trigger endorphins. =)
I know, I've always wondered why cutters don't just eat a habenero instead of scaring themselves.
