Title: Alternative to Bitinstant ?
Post by: Toomanydabs1 on March 05, 2013, 12:11 am
Hey, wondering if you guys know of any reliable alternatives to get btc fast... Since bitinstant is down.  I know some might suggest blueskytraders or bitfloor but both require direct deposit at bank of america, and yes im in the usa but there is no bank of america with in 3 1/2 hours of me believe it or not.  So looking for alternative fast way to get my coins!  Any help would be greatly appreciated, I know of localbitcoins, but not sure how trustworthly it is... I am looking for a way to turn cash into BTC, not by credit card or something similar... though I could get a pre-paid card if any sights take that?

I am in the same predicament as you, brother. I'm thinking of trying Sugar Mama.

So there is a guy locally on bitfloor... does anyone have any experience with bitfloor?  And any tips on how to make sure that I actually get my coins if I do a F2F transaction?  Besides the usual (bring a gun, bring a gang of mexicans, etc...)  lol

I just used ZIGGAP for the first time, all is good, just countin' confirmations now. I bought 6BTC to try 'em out, legit so far.

Ziggap is acting wack for me. Whenever I click on "western union" as a payment method, nothing happens. So I try to go forward anyway and enter my amount. Then it tells me to select payment method. I click on western union again and nothing happens. Very frustrating...

Its acting the same way for me too... wont let me click on the western union tab... I sent them a message, no reply... waited for a hr on there live chat thing and nothing either... I wish bitinstant would get there shit together and get back up!  It was simple and easy to use, and theres way more moneygram locations in my town then western union.

There is no moneygram option right now, at least I don't see it.

fuck bitinstant right now. I've always used it, but its just not gonna happen right now. I've gotten the low-down on bitfloor.com and it seems likes its gonna be fine. gotta set up of BofA deposit and then trade up for your bitcoins (maybe lose or gain a little) and then you can send them straight to your SR account.

Let me know if anyone has or WILL use bitfloor.....

Good lucks guys i know this time is weird so successful stories using services other than bitinstant will greatly help our purchases in the future without hassle!

let me know

All you guys, try searching for local cash sellers of bitcoins on localbitcoins.com, or bitcoin-otc.com.

So, Bitinstant is back online with BTC Address option- Any new problems people are having with Bitinstant (when it's online)?

It's too bad, I guess that happens many times, people aren't too close to each other for this type of thing.

hey y'all, there is another Forum thread here called Bitfloor Help!
domestically, bitfloor uses the prior bitinstant system of depositing into B of A. looks good.

I had an issue not unlike this 2-3 months ago.  Sorry I can't be more specific, but I'll just say that they took care of it in a way that made me a very loyal customer.  I did go for 2-3 days at a time with support not responding to my emails.  Keep in mind that they have a staff in the single digits dealing with god knows how many transactions/day now.....they will take care of your problem, but just not always super quickly.

up side is, that has only happened once and I've used them well over 20 times.  Including since they came back online, and it all went smoothly.

Interesting because so did I and still nothing, their site is up but the coins aren't flowing.
They are buying coin with our cash and keeping the profits because they've been hacked to Zero$.
I hope I'm wrong but...

Pretty sure that it's obvious that the people advertising BITSWING.com are spammer bots, which you can tell by the random name (gheidoixufiel...) Any advertisements by spammer bots are generally SCAM sites. so my bet is on that you just got scammed for $122... sorry bro.

i have found bitinstant to be very reliable and anonymous. their fees are working out to be 4.62%, which is cheaper than my juice on my superbowl bet!

I made the mistake of ordering from Bitinstant once they got the site back up yesterday and 18 hours later, no bitcoins. Have you had any communications with them? I emailed support this morning and still waiting to hear something. Just wondering if you have heard anything from them at all, or if they are just dodging people at this point.

I should've known better.... Oh well, lesson learned.

Hopefully somehow this will resolve...

be careful guys, bitcoins crashing, lost 25% in the past six hours. might not be a good idea to keep bitcoins in your wallet. smart money says buy bitcoins simultaneously with spending them. holding them is highly speculative.

Chase bank to Bitme
Wells Fargo to Bitcopia
Bank of America to Bitfloor
Moneygram to Bitstamp
Bank of America (I think) to Cryptocurrent.
