Title: USA BITCOIN EXCHANGE REVIEWS/OFFERS - WHERE TO BUY, FEES, ETC...
Post by: jshizzle23 on February 23, 2013, 06:36 am
With the rising price of BTC, and problems with exchanges like BitInstant - it would be nice to have a thread dedicated to BTC vendors/exchanges.  Please feel free to post your positive/negative feedback about any service, just like with vendor reviews, include the process involved, fees, any customer service issues - that way people who are unsure about the validity of certain vendors/exchanges can see that others have used particular services with/without concern for being scammed.  If you were scammed, post it here so that others may not have to lose their money (and for karma purposes, had this thread already existed, you may not have lost your money either)...  If you are interested in selling bitcoin and have an offer or want to make your services known, please post your information here.

In the near future, we will try to keep running lists of exchanges/vendors and their feedback & fees, so that you can have a one spot stop for current information about the best places to quickly and anonymously purchase bitcoin for use on SR!

Any other ideas/suggestions - please feel free to post accordingly.

(Please no lotteries or non-US vendors/exchanges)

Thanks - hope you enjoy!!

Due to BitInstant being down, it forced me to seek out an alternative method for purchasing BitCoin to have available for a purchase I've been wanting to make and could not wait any longer.  Through reading other posts (in many different threads), the names I came across most often were: cryptocurrent.com -- bitfloor.com -- BlueSkyTraders (available on SR)

For no reason in particular, I decided to go with bitfloor.com

It was VERY SIMPLE - I signed up anonymously using my email address, verified it, and was ready to make a deposit.

To explain something before I get into the process, bitfloor.com is a little different than BitInstant.  It has multiple purposes.  First, you credit your account in USD - then you have to 'BUY' Bitcoin depending on where the current market is trading at (it shows you online where you are at).  You can buy bitcoin two different ways - either in the amount of BTC you need (i.e. 2.5BTC) or you can buy in the amount of USD you want ($80 USD = 2.8484948BTC (I made up a fake number for the example, that's not the exact amount)).  So, you fund your account, convert it to BTC, then you can transfer the BTC to any BTC wallet address.  It is all VERY SIMPLE, my explanation is more time consuming than what it really takes to get it going - I just wanted to be thorough.

So, I decided I wanted to deposit about $80 - after doing a trial, I decided I wanted to credit my account with $78 (with a $1.75 fee) - so my deposit was $79.75. The next screen gave me the deposit info including the business name, address, account number and the key is to deposit the EXACT AMOUNT.

I drove up to my local BofA and went to the drive-thru window.  I requested an OUT OF STATE deposit slip (i don't live in NY) and filled out as much info as I could.  Sent it back, and within about a minute, the teller sent the receipt and $.25 back in an envelope.  Within 5 minutes I logged back into bitfloor.com and my account was already credited the $78.

Within 2 more minutes, I had converted a portion of that into 2 BTC *and still had about $16 in my bitfloor account* - I withdrew the money to my SR wallet and it showed up in about an hour.

What I LOVE about bitfloor is that while my account has the other $16 in it, I can do as I wish with that, I can keep it in USD, I can buy BTC and let the value go up.  The website is actually designed more for day-traders of BTC and it is VERY EASY TO USE...

With the minimal fees, ease of use, and overall speed of the transactions, I highly recommend bitfloor.com -

I hope this helps anyone looking for a way to buy BTC anonymously in the USA.

PS - You MUST have a BofA in order to make the purchase.  If not, it's not really possible to make a purchase anonymously.

BITFLOOR.COM

I recently used bitfloor for the first time(~3 days ago). Couldnt of been happier. I did a cash deposit, they only accept Bank of America right now with the cash option

Fees
-1% fee on my cash deposit.

Completely anonymous
-open account on tor with tormail email
-cash deposit at bank, no ID required.

Time
-Took about ~20 minutes to show up in my bitfloor account after i made the deposit

The only thing i dont like about them is their shitty website. Took me a few tries to get the buy order to go through

Looking for anyone that has done transactions with BlueSkyTraders, cryptocurrent.com, or any other websites/vendors...

Also, please do not use this forum to complain/bitch/moan/question INCOMPLETE transactions - this is for reviews of completed transactions only.

Thank you!!

Good thread !! I've personally only purchased coins through vendors on SR. I can 100% vouch for Sugar Mama being the most honest and reliable person I've dealt with; sending her as much as 5k usd at a time !! The only thing is that she'll charge a minimum of 9%.

Recently I also came across another great vendor; Bit Mogul. She sells at the weighted MT GOX average, takes payment through Western Union, and gets you your coins in hours, not days. Bit Mogul even payed the WU fee for me, and gave me a little extra coinage. Almost made 1% after everything was said and done. Safe to say this is the only vendor I will use from now on. She doesn't have alot of transactions but she seems very honest and Dr.Gonzo vouches her 100% as well do I !!!

I used Bitinstant for my first 3 transactions and they all worked great.  MG -> BTC address.  Then their site went to shit and if you look at thier reedit and bitcointalk.com threads you will see people fighting for refunds on orders placed weeks ago.  Also Yankee on bitcointalk sure doesn't keep everyone updated very well.  I was going to use bitinstant -> btistamp but again there are many people having problems with those orders too.  Now the bitinstant site says all functionality will be back up Monday the 25th.... yeah I have heard that one before.  First they said last Friday the 15th, then Monday night the 18th then Tuesday night th 19th but nothing.  I'm fed up with them and would be very nervous placing a large $ order through them even when their site seems "functional".  Alright, enough about bitinstant.

So I had to find a different route to get my BTC and I'm inpatient so SR vendor sugarmama was out of the question.  There are no BofA's around here so Bitfloor, Blue Sky Traders and Cryptocurrency are out of the question.  And then I happened upon this ziggap site. I saw it mentioned in bitintants customer service thread on bitcointalk.com and Yankee from Bitinstant even said that Ziggap wasn't a scam.

So I go to Ziggap.com and low and behold I see an option for a cash deposit at a Chase bank and the option to go straight to a BTC address!!  So I filled out the form, I received the email with the account name and # for chase bank, went to the drive up which was awesome not even having to go in the bank and deposited the cash.

When I got back to my computer to check the order status it was stuck on "confirming bank deposit" which was strange becasue the FAQ stated that it should confirm almost instantly.  I waited 3 hours giving them some time to work things out  and then emailed support and got a response within 5 mins saying something to the effect of "we are a little busy but it will be confirmed ASAP".  I thought oh shit what have I done, my money is going to be tied up for days.  So I replied to that email asking "by ASAP do you mean an hour, hours, or days? and again I got a response within 2 mins saying "hours but maybe less".

So I'm pounding my F5 key on my order page and BAM after 5 mins the cash deposit confirmed.  I checked blockchain and all was good and I had my coins.  Total turn around time less than 4 hours.

I bought 14 BTC from them at $30.38 per coin and after my transfer/tumble method I got exactly 14 BTC in my SR account!

I noticed today that the option for Chase bank deposits is now gone and I have emailed support asking when if ever it might be back up.  I also noticed that the MG WU deposit confirm times is now less than 12 hours when it used to be 2-3 business days.

So there's my wall of text for you all to enjoy.

Long live Tor, SR, and BTC

I have used BlueSkyTraders..

It was very straight forward, sent em an email that contained the amount I wanted to trade, and the bitcoin address to have the coins sent to.  Within about an hour latest, I would get a confirmation e-mail with pertinent information regarding the deposit/transaction as a whole.

Every time I have used em, my coins are either in my wallet, or damn close to being there by the time I get back home (also within an hour or so).

I will say, however that since they have been doing the pre-order thing, I haven't had much luck getting through to them.  So now, I use bitfloor.

Jshizzle already told you guys what time it is with bitfloor..  So I will refrain from being redundant.

Peace, dog.

i just used blue sky traders yesterday for my first bitcoins.

it was a very simple process. i emailed them, got an order quote with clear instructions. went to bank of america and made the cash deposit. the teller found the account just fine and didn't ask for any ID.

got home, and as soon as my wallet was synced, the bitcoins were there!

they definitely get my recommendation. :)

For 2 weeks I kept trying to use Blockchain.info.  Until I found ppl on the road talking about Bitfloor.com

Bitfloor.com is SOOOO EASY!  You log on, go to deposti, check that youve read the terms and conditions and that youll provide an ID if requested, you enter how much USD you want to put in to change into bitcoins and hit enter, you get an account number and the name of the company.  Walk to Bank of America (any, youdont have to request a specific BAC) get the deposit slip, fill it and go to the teller.  The lady barely paid any attention to me and didnt even ask for ID, I just gave her the slip and the money and she handed me a receipt.  IT WAS THAT EASY!

Im very lazy so i settle for easy methods.  By the time i got home I logged into my wallet and saw my money, I then traded all of my money for bitcoins and just like magic i had bitcoins.  I then withdrew them to SR.  Very easy.

The only fees on this is like 1% for fee and thats it, everything else is free

I used bitfloor for the first time yesterday with no trouble. Deposit to Sr wallet time under 2 hrs. Shizzle laid that all out for you guys. I just read above that blue sky traders also has a BoA cash deposit option. Can anyone tell me if there is any difference in the fees between these two organizations?

I have made the majority of my BTC deposits via bitinstant.  I'm not trash-talking that service; they were genuinely attacked, and recovery is a bitch.  We're all raving about Bitfloor (as I'm about to do), but last year they were attacked, and lost their agreement with Wells Fargo in the aftermath.  So, the net result is that shit sometimes happens to good people/companies, and if we have good histories with them, we should probably not try to sink them after one bad round of business.  So, this is a great thread for piecing out some of the ups and downs.

I did my second transfer with bitfloor today, and couldn't be happier.  BofA has Saturday hours, so I made my deposit this morning, and by the time I got home, the funds were there.  One thing I really like about bitfloor is that it is a bona fide competitor with Mt. Gox, in that it's a true exchange.  You can keep deposits of USD and BTC in your account (which requires no personal info outside an email address), and exchange one for the other based on current market exchange rates.

Bitfloor is also a real competitor with bitinstant, and I wonder if we'll see a drop in fees as a result (the cynic in me says probably not).  But, today I deposited $700 and paid a fee of $7.89.  Had I used bitinstant, I would have paid $27.93 in fees, plus another $3.95 to ZipZap for that end of the transfer.  That amounted to over a whole BTC that went into my wallet instead of to fees.  Even if you had to drive an hour to the nearest BofA, unless you drive a V-8, you would still save money over using bitinstant.  On smaller transfers, the difference is even easier to see.  A $70 transfer will only cost you $1.62 with bitfloor versus bitinstant's $6.74.

So, where before I was sold by the speed of the bitinstant transfers, now I am sold by both speed and affordability.  Hopefully cryptocurrent will give even bitfloor a run for my money, as more competition among reputable vendors is what this industry badly needs.

Great posts so far!  A lot of good information (fees, processes, etc...), but we still need info about other exchanges/vendors - for those of you who have used other services, let us know the process, how long it took, fees, etc...

Also, I know vendor Einstein777 is selling BitCoins now at a very good rate (maybe 0% fees??) - and I quote, "can't make car payments with bitcoins..."  NOT YET AT LEAST!! lol

+1 KARMA to all my posters so far, except kolanutz who is just along for the ride...

Keep the info coming!!  Anyone heard anything about BitInstant?? I heard Monday, but even when they're back up, I'm not sure I'd use them right now...

Bitfloor.com, bitstamp.net, bitcopia.com, and BlueSkyTraders are 4 that I can vouch for personally. NW Nugz, you might want to try selling them on that website where people meet locally to buy/sell bitcoins to each other too. I think its called cashforbitcoins.com maybe? Someone correct me if I'm wrong. Bitstamp.net and bitcopia.com both have BTC sell/cash out options as well.

I too have used BlueSkyTraders a number of times.  I would say between 6-8 times.  Transactions have always gone very smoothly and I generally get my confirmation email with blockchain info within 10 minutes of making the deposit at the bank.
I had actually been utilizing the early order service since before they implemented it.  It seemed like every time I went to order they were already sold out so I started e-mailing them the day before.
It sounds like bitfloor is a service I will have to look into.  Should be an easy transition since I am already used to the BoA cash deposit method.

I have heard of one called LocalBitcoins.com. I have not clicked on their clearnet address yet, but I do plan to check em out. I think I'm too parranoid to meet people from my own local area  8). I can try to meet people in other places I'd go to though ;)

I've looked on craigslist for people selling bitcoin, ebay is always way overcharged, makes me think cartels are using them, maybe they're buying so many that its limiting supply, thus causing the increase in price...??  Never know!!  I'll take a look at localbitcoin.com sometime, see if there's any where I live...

Looks interesting, except that the minimum buy rates are in the hundreds of dollars.  Also, the less interaction we have with one another, the better.  The excerpt from the law-enforcement site I saw was really speculating about kitkat's ID.  If she had killed herself, many of us would have been exposed.  But, how many of us stand to be exposed if we're anything more than a virtual community?  I like the fact that I care about some of you, and would do a lot to help you, but if LE were to torture me to expose your identities, I'd have absolutely nothing to expose.

Yeah, I'm kicking myself for not getting screen captures, but I tricked an admin into access to a law enforcement forum.  I got kicked off after about twenty minutes, but there was a "Silk Road" thread, and they were talking about ktikat's suicide messages, and throwing around some of our usernames.  There was speculation that if she would kill herself, then a subsequent investigation would probably yield a ton of SR users in her cell phone contact list.  It was clear that they had no idea who she was, though, or where (although they suspected the US), and one guy said it would be impossible to trace since there were so many suicides per month, or whatever.  Not long after that, the admin discovered I had lied to get on the forum, and kicked me out and "logged my ip address" (heheh... if you're watching, asshole, hope you enjoyed looking that shit up), so I lost access.

On the up side, I know exactly how to break into one of those sites again, although it would require some pretty unlikely luck.

Remember, going through the drive-thru is the best route - no cameras.  Someone had made a comment that the drive-thus is for customer (account holders) only - they don't know if you are depositing in your own account or not - what they are preventing is someone who is a non-account holder who has a BofA check that they want to cash (they bring them inside to 'check their ID' and to also try to sell them an account) - for all they know you are depositing money into your own account (you're just from out of town).

Bitfloor will get my business again. I went through the steeps at Bitfloor and then to the bank. When i got home the money was in my Bitfloor account, i then purchased the BTC amount i needed. After that i then transferred the BTC to a wallet then into my SR account. All in all it took only 10 Hours to get coins into my SR account. Very happy with the service.

Exactly. Wash your coins a bit, then sell as many as you can to someone like 300 miles away(or more if the transaction is worth the while.)

I was going to use bitfloor today, but when I got to the deposit screen, their was a mandatory check box saying that you may be asked for government issued ID. Just a heads up...

I backed out and used bluesky.

From the Bitfloor deposit page:

Quote
I acknowledge that I have read the above instructions. I acknowledge that funds I will deposit belong to me. I acknowledge that I will provide a copy of my government ID if required.

Probably just some legal mumbo jumbo, if anyone asks for your id, just tell them you dont believe in jungian philosophy.

With the minimal fees, ease of use, and overall speed of the transactions, I highly recommend bitfloor.com -

I hope this helps anyone looking for a way to buy BTC anonymously in the USA.

PS - You MUST have a BofA in order to make the purchase.  If not, it's not really possible to make a purchase anonymously.

is there a way to link the bitfloor acct. to an external wallet so that btc gets deposited into the ewallet by default, rather than the site??

Not that I know of - we are kinda using bitfloor for something different than its original purpose.  It's used primarily for people 'trading' BTC for value - we're just using it to buy the BTC for withdrawal purpose...

If you do find that's an option - let us know!  A lot of us would be very interested in that feature... I know I would... =)

I personally just used Bitfloor for the first time last week and couldn't be happier with how easy it was. I registered on their site with a tormail, activated my account and then went to the depsoit page. I put in the amount (it had a box saying they would check for ID but keep reading) clicked deposit and printed the page that popped up. No personal information was asked what-so-ever. Nothing, just a tormail. I took the slip to a BoA, went up to a teller and told her I had to do a transfer, she took my cash and the slip and 30 seconds later she handed me a receipt. No ID asked for, not even my name. Completely anonymous. By the time I got home my account was funded, I quickly converted the USD to BTC and sent it out to my wallet.

TL:DR; Its crazy easy, fast, and even though it says on the website they ask for ID they don't

i was looking into blue sky traders recently cuz it seems like they are the only truely annoynoumous cash deposit seller of btc out there. how does that business work legitamitly? I mean how can they be accepting tons of annoynomous cash in a bank of america account and not raise any suspiscions from LE, the bank itself, IRS? You can't just receive cash for bitcoin and not check who the money is coming from? sry for the grammar spelling etc. its friday and i'm fucked up :)

Fantastic thread.

Nothing really to add other than I've been trying to message Bit Mogul for a few days now, and got a message back today.  They are currently on vacation.  :-\

Wish they would have at least gone in vacation mode.  Would have done something different.  Still, I appreciate that they took the time to respond while they were away trying to enjoy themselves.

Man..  Bitinstant is turning out to be a major disappointment for the bitcoin community.  I really hope the folks over at Blue Sky and the other exchanges mentioned on this thread  get a ton of new customers out of this ordeal.  Sounds like most of the people posting here were forced to jump ship from Bitinstant due to the epic outage.   It's kind of ironic, cuz when you look at the fancy Bitinstant website and compare it to the no-nonsense Blue Sky site you cant help but laugh..  Blue Sky might not have all the fancy bells & whistles on their webpage, but at the end of the day who cares? All that matters to most of us is having a reliable company to buy coins from quickly & securely.

People have been more than patient with Bitinstant throughout this ordeal, but I can say I'm nervous about ever doing business with them again.   They've been unable to process cash to bitcoin and other types of transactions since 2/15, and their latest announcement suggested they would be back up and running by Friday (3/1).  Unfortunately, they've missed one deadline after another and the site is still down today..  :(

Meanwhile, Blue Sky is still processing transactions and haven't missed a beat...  Really glad we have this thread cuz I didnt know where to go for coins until I read about the other options here..

For normal checking accounts, any deposits over $3k would require a Monetary Instrument Report, any over $10K would usually require a Currency Transaction Report (sent to IRS) - but they can setup the account as a business cash account whose sole purpose is like a business that has operations all over the country and that deals with mostly cash - it's like you work for McDonald's and you're making the daily cash deposit for them.  LocalTill (the processor for bitfloor) pays a % to BofA to process all of these cash deposits and that's why no ID is required - just like if you worked for McDonald's - they wouldn't ID you for making a deposit.

The only real risk is if LE decides to look into LocalTill's operations - but then again, buying bitcoin is legal, so it would be mostly a waste of time (and illegal on LE's part) to investigate legal activity.

I've also looked at fastcash4bitcoins.com and bitcoinroad.com

Any other similar services out there that allow for anonymous purchasing of BTC?

When I used Bitinstant I used to have to go to BOFA to get cash, then go a few miles up the road to do the moneygram at the store.  Now I can do it all at one single location, how cool is that!?  Plus the fees are less, so who cares when Bitinstant is back...   ;D

Used campbx.com
Funded through dwolla and they only charged .25$ per transaction!
Seemingly no fee for trading and no fee for taking out bitcoins.
Great service, was going to use mtgox but didnt have a bill statement that I could use to verify.
Didnt need to wait to trade either, not sure why this method isnt used more, so many features that MtGox is lacking.
Edit:
Just calculated that they charge .55% fee in trades.
Also the main feature they allow is the depth table, showing what btc seller/buyer prices are and their volume.
Also allows for bidding so you can wait to see if anyone pays the price you want.

For the last few months I have been using,

1. Blue Sky Trader  - Good people easy and fast Wells Fargo deposits. Only issue I have now is that they sell out quick are only open Tues-Fri, and have now started taking preorders, for the next day, so many times they are out of coin by the time they open due to preorders. Not so great for spur of the moments BTC purchase.

2. Bitcopia- Open Mon-Fri, and possibly Saturday with pre arrangement. Bank Of America Deposits. I believe they have a $1000 or $2000 limit on transactions. Prices are on par with BST, they charge a small extra fee to ( I think its around .005) to expedite confirmation, basically cutting time down from 2 hours to 1 hour on a normal trading day.

The biggest issue with both the above is that, they can run out fairly quickly, especially since Bitinstant is out of the question for most right now.

3. Bitfloor- Accepts Bank of America deposits, fees are minimal and all my transactions with them have taken less than 20 minutes once I make the deposit. You get current real time prices. Transfer to Wallet of BTC are the slowest part, but that has nothing to do with the BTC vendors.

Currently Bitfloor in my preferred method, but as with all BTC vendors/operations. I'm sure at some point it will become a pain in the ass to use, lol.

Thanks for the input; I was going to look into BST or bitfloor, but for the former search is disabled right now, and for the latter I'm not getting the signup confirmation email. Their servers are wacky atm so I don't know if that's the issue or whether one can register with tormail or what. I'll take a look at bitcopia see what the status is

edit: looks like bitcopia is suspending operations till the daily swing settles a bit

You can definitely sign up for Bitfloor through tormail.  Tormail can be buggy sometimes, but all day Bitfloor and Tormail have been running like a champ for me.

That's the exact reason I prefer Bitfloor right now over BST and Bitcopia, as the wild price fluxes play havoc with the "private" vendors.

The only neg I have on bitfloor is that it's definitely a seller's market - the price is usually higher than the mtgox price - which is good for selling BTC, but sucks for buying.  I used the mtgox price the other day to buy BTC - I needed like $170 - I bought $180 and because BF's price was higher than mtgox, I ended up being .04 short even after overestimating - whack!!  That's the ONLY thing I can say bad about bitfloor - otherwise, they're fuckin sweet.

I agree, for me though Bitfloor is the best option. I want nothing to do with MtGox, since I am a pure purchase BTC for a specific reason person. I don't ever need to sell BTC, just acquire.

By the way N4L, I need to give you out a try. I was an early Nod customer and have always enjoyed his service and high quality product. It will be nice to purchase smaller amounts, and you fill that void.

Remember, going through the drive-thru is the best route - no cameras. ...

... SOURCE - worked in retail banking for close to a decade...

The drive thru probably has better camera coverage than inside the bank. If you are seeing the teller on a video screen, so are you. If you are close to the teller, I am pretty sure they have a camera on you. Maybe this is a recent development.

Lol, Master Blaster never fails to entertain. True, you don't have to provide ID. The problem could be, they don't have to give you your coins if you don't. May be best to try not to keep a balance at any place that you agreed to provide ID to. I'm not saying they intend to steal your money. I just think they are ready to comply with future government regulations that may require ID from you. They might also add that requirement to the process for a refund if they get into trouble like the other currently failing exchangers.

Ill have to agree on that... in addition to bitfloor always having a higher asking price than mt. gox you also have to take into account that you are going to lose even more when you transfer to SR, since the road is on the gox average... you can very easily overestimate and still find yourself well short of what you need... you got pretty lucky with only .04 :) the average user will purchase the correct amount of coin on bitfloor and it isn't the same price once transferred to the road... you can easily end up with a 20$ spread between what you paid on bitfloor and what SR's average is per bitcoin... So my advice is to check what the average on SR is and calculate in the difference to what bitfloors asking price is before you even make a deposit at BOA and then add the difference to the deposit amount... then you are good to go... I know confusing... I look at it as paying for convenience of bitfloor... they do kick ass...

+1 for thinking that all the way through!!  I never thought about that, but you are kinda double losing out since SR uses the MTGOX average - if I were selling BTC on the regular, I'd be using BF like it was going out of business!!

"I am sorry to announce that due to circumstances outside of our control BitFloor must cease all trading operations indefinitely. Unfortunately, our US bank account is scheduled to be closed and we can no longer provide the same level of USD deposits and withdrawals as we have in the past. As such, I have made the decision to halt operations and return all funds.

Over the next days we will be working with all clients to ensure that everyone receives their funds. Please be patient as we process your request.

Just wanted to let everyone know that if you need to sell BTC for cash - cryptocurrent is the way to go.  You send him the BTC and for $15 (splits the cost of the overnight fedex costs), he buys the BTC for the MtGox Weighted Average and overnights the cash.  It's an amazing thing to receive hundreds of dollars via FedEx =)

Also, if you need BTC and want to buy it -- if I have it available, I am willing to sell you BTC for MtGox weighted average in exchange for a Netspend Refill Card (10 digit PIN - available at CVS among other locations) or a Vanilla Card Refill (same thing).

PM me on here or on SR for further details.

DON'T USE DUCK COMMANDER!!!  I just used him thinking he was trustworthy, and he literally just stole $650 from me via WU transfer... On my birthday no less!?  Fml.

Just please head my warning and don't use him.  I think the two people who claim to have gotten coin from him are fake accounts he set up, as I placed the order on Saturday this past weekend (my bday.. :/) and he never gave me shit and then cancelled my order so I couldn't leave feedback on the listing...  There's no reason why if he was actually doing business legitimately that he would've given them their coin but not given me mine during the same period of time.  Don't fall for it people!!!

Depending on how you want to send $?:

You might find a good vendor on SR in the "Money" category.  JumboMonkeyBiscuit looks legit, though, SR vendors can go bad at any time.

Blue Sky Traders has been very good and they have an onion site.

Localbitcoins.com has local and online sellers. Understanding who to trust there can be a tech-heavy endeavor if you get into the related Bitcoin-otc aspect of it. I think you can just Pick a vendor with good stats though.

Cryptocurrent closed down (under Fincen pressure, I think).

I used bitinstant up to the new changes recently. Now they are using some type of identity third party to verify peoples ID's.

Moving forward I don't know what I may do. I have a couple of ideas, but I miss TC soooo fucking bad right now.

Bitinstant now lets you deposit up to $1000 USD. I used it yesterday and had funds instantly.  Worked out great!

With bitinstant down i made the move to BlueSkyTraders and am very pleased. They are very quick to respond to my emails and questions and run a very clean and simple service. the reserving for next trading sessions can be a bit of a drag if you want coins immediately but if you can wait a few days then i would recommend their service
Instructions were very clear and on point, made simple deposit into BOA account at 545 pm and my 1200 USD was in my e-wallet when i got up the next morning at 530 am.
I like the anonymity and ease. Bitinstant can fall down again for all its worth, BST from now on for me ;D

Well, I thought I help some of you guys who are looking for cash deposit exchanges that I bumped into...As to if they are legit? Beats me, I haven't touched a exchange since I hooked up with a local coin dealer.. Good luck!

One does bank transfers at Wells and Chase.

The other one is MP.

Also there is btcquick. Can purchase coins with CC but the verification process isn't bad just have to provide a copy of your id

Good luck!
