So the title says it all. I think we should have a buyer page, similar to a vendor page. mainly i want to put my public key in there so any vendor would be able to message me encrypted whenever they please.
often i have vendors send me messages out of the blue, and i've even had vendors send me DCN's unrequested, in plain text. I want a vendor to see my page, see that i take encryption seriously, and save my key before he even thinks about sending me a message.
this would encourage everyone to use PGP every time. Its something we should all adhere too.
Your thoughts?

Excellent idea! I'd also make it so your 'Buyer Page' shows all the feedback you have -left-, similar to how vendor pages show the feedback received.
Just copy it over, simple solution actually.

I like the idea of the buyer page to be able to show PGP. I dont think that showing feedback is such a good idea tho. Vendors might not want to sell to you if you have left bad feedback, regardless of if it is truthfull or not....Also some people like to put where they are located (example; 5/5 made it to SW USA)which can be used to somewhat locate the buyer.

Sounds about right to me.

i think you are overboard on not letting buyers point out issues.. why bother with ratings at all with your mentality

It would be one thing if the buyer left multiple bad feedbacks, but if there is only one or two here and there it proves he's a legit and honest buyer. In regards to the location, just dont put "made it to SW USA" in your feedbacks.

I think you are missing the point and projecting a mentality onto me I don't have.
I don't have a problem with buyers "pointing out issues," nor do I want to restrict them in that capacity at all.
I simply want some level of transparency there, so that vendors have the same level of information about the feedback buyers are leaving, that buyers have about the feedback vendors get. Make sense?
The other guy assumes that if vendors could see how often people left 1/5 feedback, it would instantly stop people from leaving any negative feedback, and you seem to assume this is set in stone fact I guess. I do not think this is the case. I think generally everyone would leave the same proportion of negative:positive feedback they do now, and vendors would adjust accordingly. Just because vendors can suddenly see what kind of feedback their customers leave doesn't mean they will suddenly stop selling to all of them.
Hope that makes sense.

Tracking numbers are an issue that nobody seems to be talking about except me. I've brought it up a few times. It's pointless to encrypt your address if the vendor sends you a plaintext tracking number in an SR message. In fact, it's much worse, because addresses are deleted from the server when the order is marked in transit, but SR messages are stored on the server for 3 months, even after you delete them.
You can include a statement along with your encrypted address to tell the vendor not to send a tracking number, but they might forget or not care or confuse your request with another customers and send it anyway. Ultimately vendors should just stop doing it. You only need a tracking number if the product didn't arrive, and vendors will save time by not messaging everyone with their tracking numbers.

Exactly my point. I made it clear to the vendor that wasn't cool and i gave him my pgp key. if i had a page where my PGP was listed we could fix this problem :)

I've had vendors send me the tracking/dnc in plain text as well. I really do appreciate them giving me it.
But if they are going to give the tracking/dnc to me, they could encrypt it with my key though as I always send my key when buying in case they do send sensitive info like that.
If they won't encrypt it then I'd rather them not send the tracking/dnc in the first place. As it is a security issue for both the seller and buyer, and that's what SR is about, making the selling and buying of illegal goods as safe as possible.

We agree with this. All of our packages have tracking but we never check them nor do we provide them to the buyer. The only time we will, is when a package is claimed not received. We clearly state this on our Vendor page.
The idea about the buyer page sounds like a good idea. PGP and feedback given included in the page would be great. We would love the transparency between buyers and sellers. Maybe a give an option to leave comments/feedback for the buyers too.

I totally agree......page should include these features.
1) PGP key
2) # of transactions
3) Total amount of USD or bitcoins spent
4) length of time on SR
5) The last 5 feedback or reviews they posted
6) The last 5 vendors they purchased from
7) How may auto-finalized they have.
8) # of times they have been to SR resolution
9) # of refunds and % of that to they total buys
Feel free to add to this list.
So the title says it all. I think we should have a buyer page, similar to a vendor page. mainly i want to put my public key in there so any vendor would be able to message me encrypted whenever they please.

I Agree with this as well, It makes a lot of sense, So much so I reccommend the OP to post it in the section of the forums where technical ideas can get implemented.
To the posted above who said what the page should include, I agree, However when somebody makes a purchase you do get their buyer stats and some basic information such as how many times they have auto finalized etc. But there have been quite a few times when I have clicked on a buyers name only to be taken to the page where you send them a message, As opposed to a "buyer page".
One great reason for this to be implemented is as follows.
Lets say you have a no refunds to new buyers policy, They do not have to FE, But no refunds. It is clearly stated on your page. Once the order is marked in transit, You cannot check their buyer stats anymore, And if you were to keep records of their sr handles/stats, it would be dangerous in case you were arrested and your premises searched, And 2. Probably against sr rules.
The buyer then messages you saying their order never arrived and they want a refund, You now have to figure out a way to get their buyer stats again so you can check whether or not to work with this buyer.
Im sure there are many more reasons as well, But this is a fucking great idea.

Do you guys mean this Buyer Page would be visible to all vendors at any time? Or only visible to a vendor when a purchase has been made?
I would be really really uncomfortable if all of these stats would be on my buyer page for any vendor to see at any time:
2) # of transactions
3) Total amount of USD or bitcoins spent
4) length of time on SR
5) The last 5 feedback or reviews they posted
6) The last 5 vendors they purchased from
Especially the last two of the list would make me nervous. That could be used to profile me, and all LE would need to do is set up a vendor account.

I think you bring up an important point for sure.
With transparency comes increased risk. Perhaps some limiting factor on who can view a buyer's "profile," like maybe only vendors they are trying to place an order with. Maybe in addition to that we can limit the info somewhat.

...Perhaps some limiting factor on who can view a buyer's "profile," like maybe only vendors they are trying to place an order with...
Now, this I might be able to live with.
Other than that concern, I find a "buyer page" to be a good idea. BUT, there should be no possibilities for buyers to do anything foolish. No Profile they could write about themselves, no Avatar pics, nothing. Only PGP and relevant stats.

In BMR buyer feedback is visible for 90 days. You can see every item purchased, how much was it worth and every single feedback the buyer has received (from vendors) in the last 90 days, and with a little digging you can find all feedback set by the buyer in that 90 days. In addition to this, you can easily see the total number of purchases made. I think this much info is too much. I would never order anything from there.
