Hello there.
I've just become a seller on SR & of course so I can be thought of as reliable I have had to start using GPG4WIN
I'm using Windows 7 operating system.
I noticed after I'd installed it that there was an extra icon on my desktop called Kleopatra.
I have no idea what it's for & what it does. I have tried googling for some answers but don't seem to have got anywhere.
Do I need this program for anything or is it a piece of spam that came with GPG?
I certainly don't want to throw it away if it's important, to my silk road operations

doesn't the big, clunky, compendium that downloads automatic with gpg4win have the info you need?
however, prior post does give you a good link. there is no doubt a lot of this has a bit of a learning curve, so you got to work at it a bit. but here's my experience: i found i didn't like kleopatra as much as i liked 'GPA".
with 'GPA' you get a 'key manager' on your task bar & i love how smooth import & encryption is. however, GPA does not download automatic - you have to select it as an option from the download menu. i gotta tell you, it took me 3 or 4 install/un-install's for gpg & just about anything else i needed here on SR.
you really gotta look close at what's displayed on your screen, be patient, have glass of wine, & take a break.

Which is the program in question.

It's not spam. It provides a GUI to manage your PGP keys.

Just ignore Kleopatra as you are using GPA! Its Just installed as part of the GPG4WIN software bundle by default! If you really don't want it you can uninstall the GPG4WIN package and reinstall but when you get to the part that asks you what components you want to install you can just untick everything but GPA!
