Dammit. MTGOX is down again, and the BTC price is crashing.

https://btc-e.com/

Time to find a different transaction method.

crashing.....???? This is exactly the wrong way to talk and think.
People see it is going down a bit and think they loose everything.
Far as we know it is a doss attack.
Not uncommon, here major banks -one after the other- were under the same attack last week and they were just the normal big banks.
People could not use internetbanking etc.

Anyway...you do not gamble or do anything with money YOU CANNOT AFFORD TO LOOSE.
How difficult is that ?
You do not sell when the coin going down....you sell when you think it will not go up any further.
And then only if you need the money.
The coin will rise and rise and rise......
A big difference in thinking.

To be fair, there's been a 20 dollar drop this afternoon on btc-e, that's fairly hefty.

BTC is by far, more "dynamic" than any other currency... I'm getting used to it.  Don't get paranoid, and be patient

stop causing this panic, like I said nothing is wrong.
MtGox is up and running the same rate as before, fluctuating but that is normal and people wining all the time will not give a good impulse for those who want to buy and sell.
I think there is a saying..... if you can't stand the heat .....?

This kind of talking by NANPA ...causing panic over a crash that is not even there makes us all loose.
There will be always people start selling and the one thing you should not do is selling.
You can say this 1000 times, they just don't listen. To afraid to loose a few 100 dollars.
When you are here on SR selling or buying one time you win some....other time you loose some.
In a year time you will see that it all was sorta ok and that you in fact did not win much or loose much.
If you are dealing with coins and your life sort of depends on it.....quit!!
Never gamble more than you can afford to loose !!! (or don't miss anyway)
Anything else will fuck you up one day or the other .....

MtGox survived it's second significant DDOS in three days without crashing. Maybe if the market manipulators don't get what they want, they will finally give up.

MtGox has a too big monopoly.

Will do the other exchanges some good.

Probably even the litecoin too.

What's bad for MtGox is bad for the bitcoin too.

Every other exchange that has a problem is never going to make a difference on the pricerate of the btc.

Probably, not even been noticed and or mentioned.

I am going to look at the litecoin.
It's time for a closer inspection...

Look at the bitcoin value/volume trend.......If more people actually understood basic statistics we wouldn't have half the mass paranoia.

MTGOX was down. Luckily it was down long, or it may have crashed like it did last week. As it was, it lost 20% of it's value in 30 minutes, a number not reflected in the above because MTGOX was not online.

Still, isn't it crazy to have to worry about wild swings like this? We really do need to use something with a flat value.

Ever think MtGox is the root of the attacks? Limits competition and causes people to use the exchange more frequently. Not that I am into conspiracy. lol

Do you really think they do something that stupid, against all reason just to ''limit'' the competition.
The contrary ....people will be more interested in the competition.
If any conspiracy..... it would be the competition who causes the downtime.
Or the guvmint.
