Hope they'd back it up sooner! How much transactions and money would be lost...

Last price on Gox was $125USD, 2 hours ago at 10:18 am EST

only 4 other USD exchanges have recent trades, 12:20 EST

btceUSD  $101.01

bitstampUSD  $116.81

cbxUSD  $120.00

vcxUSD  $106.66

Looks like another major correction is looming on the horizon

This was indeed confirmed by Mt.Gox to be a DDOS again.

...Mt.Gox should really get their act together, this for me clearly underscores the need for people to start heading to other exchanges. Does anyone know how the deal between Mt.Gox and Coinlab is progressing? It's been a while since I heard anything of that, I hope they can finally make some much needed improvements upon their shoddy service..
Not only should people use other exchanges, but this: more people won't adopt bitcoin if there aren't many more places in which to use it. If a lot more merchants don't start accepting bitcoin, then where's the incentive for the ordinary Joes and Janes out there to get their bitcoin feet wet. And not that many "ordinary" Joes are going to have enough knowledge and experience to purchase bitcoins and sending them around, so the learning curve for all this had better get more horizontal and fast, or we'll never reach critical mass for bitcoin.

Hey Goblin,

Don't let the Bitcoin hysteria spook you! Current trading is based on several factors:

1. Greed
2. irrational exuberance (Greenspan quote)
3. blind enthusiasm
4. Total ignorance

The esoteric concept of a digital currency can only be appreciated and implemented by the bold and the brave. Not your average Joe/Jane.
Last time I checked, the bold were engaged in a snooze-fest and the brave were out to lunch.

Stay away from GOX! manipulation extraordinaire!

jus' sayin'

I know! I haven't touched it with the proverbial ten foot pole in a loooong time.
