Title: Has anyone imported a pivate key in Blockchain.info?
Post by: DarlaHarrington on March 23, 2013, 05:28 pm
I've done this a bunch of times with no issue. Today I imported 5BTC via private key, it synched and recognized the address but nothing showed up in my wallet. Usually this is a instant thing. Anyone have similar issues?

Not sure what the problem is, but why not send the coins to another address in your blockchain.info wallet using the program/service where the addresses were originally stored?

Phew, so after my second email to btcquick I was told the key wasn't loaded correctly and I will be sent my btc tomorrow. What a relief..That was a worrisome few hours..

Astor, I sometimes purchase coins from BTCquick. They send private keys containing the amount of btc you purchased for you to import into Blockchain. I've done it bunch of times and never rain into this problem.

That's a strange service. It's like the bitcoin equivalent of a pre-paid debit card. :)
